Walmart knows darn well how much is spent at their stores from SNAP and they know those people dont care about the cost. It doesn't help that there is zero incentive by the SNAP users to not waste it or use it.
Don't forget housing either. During the BiDumb years HUD was paying section 8 for illegals at above market rates. Otherwise landlords wouldn't have rented to them. But with govt inflating the market rents exploded across the board. Landlords could get guaranteed income and if their properties get trashed taxpayers would foot the bill.
EBT is an artificial increase on demand due to those that abuse it. SNAP should only be for the elderly and truly disabled. Actually it should be included in Medicare so there are less things to keep track and monitor.
In CA during the PLANdemic people who were only getting $20 a month on EBT (food stamps) suddenly got about $200 per person per household. once the PLANdemic died down it went back to normal.
