Entire program needs to be audited and revamped. Some carry more than $4000 balance on their cards. Obviously the rates are too high. Amounts given need to be calculated at a much lower rate. Funds should cover enough for basic subsistence and not for expensive cuts of meat and all kinds of junk food. Let’s demand a change.
25+ years ago, my dad used to work near Boston. He had a Russian jew coworker that had a wife and kids that lived near NYC. This guy would work all week in Boston, but leave early on Friday's to go visit the "family" on the weekends.
Turns out, he had the wife claim that there was no father so they could obtain Section 8 housing, food stamps and free bus passes. This POS actually bragged about how nice it was because he was an immigrant!

I’d be willing to bet there isn’t one agency in America that isn’t corrupt when it comes to finances. No matter how big or small. A few people or thousands. You’ll find corruption within. Humans are born inherently evil because of sin. Those without Jesus show this daily. They can call themselves whatever they want, only true followers of Christ can sustain against the temptation. And even then, if and when failed, will fess up. Make things right despite the outcome. This is not the behavior we see in these agencies. But I suppose it’s always been this way. And always will. At this view, just a decently cleaned version would benefit Americans more than nothing.
The corruption we have been seeing is not simply people who just decided to be evil all of the sudden. They have been coerced, threatened, blackmailed and bribed to perpetuate the corruption by a vast overarching conspiracy of very powerful old money ancient bloodline families. We are fighting a 6000+ year old death cult. People are always corruptible but don't confuse the issue; government corruption in a country like ours does not come out of a vacuum.

Food stamps used to work when they gave out actual food that you had to go pick up and it was the staples not snacks, fruit juices and sweet cereals and people got off of it as soon as they could. Why would people want to get off it today when they can get so much junk on it at the taxpayers expense.

That's what we did many years ago, we needed it for probably a year or less, just to help out with food for our small kids at the time. Back then you got only the staples, no sodas and junk food. As soon as we could, we got off the assistance. Was when my husband was in the military and things were super tight. Thank the lord we never needed it again. Kids are all grown up now.
Exactly, that's what most good people try to do......use it when you need it with the full intention of getting off when you no longer need it.
That's why WIC is a much better program. Only certain items that are truly nourishing to (breastfeeding) mom and babies are allowed.

True, the wife always has her own name and does not take the name of the husband. I don't know if that's how it's done in their countries of origin but I always thought that was a strange custom.
They all have some weird ways of naming themselves. The thing is, they take their mother's name along with their father's to, and I quote this from a Hispanic friend, to keep the family name alive. As if Gonzalez, Garcia, Rodriguez, Herrera, etc are ever gonna die out.
