Because the "search" was organized as a mere pretext for using our navy to scout out the Japanese before we baited them into attacking us. Maybe we'll find she retired somewhere under a different identity.
The government provided some material support that wasn't typical to provide to private citizens, including additional imaging equipment on her plane, she was likely commissioned as a spy. Also direct talks with the president at the time iirc. Unusual if you dig into it.
I had no idea there were classified documents about this, especially documents hidden for 88 years. In the current climate, that screams "It's the aliens."
Beginning today, at
@ POTUS
' direction, records related to Amelia Earhart's final flight and disappearance 88 years ago will be declassified and shared with the American people.
These records include reports, maps, and other documents tracing Earhart's final journey, her last known communications and location, and the initial search following her disappearance.
Thanks to President
@ realDonaldTrump
's leadership, a historic initiative is underway to digitize and publicly release these records from across the federal government, including newly declassified files today from
@ NSAgov
.
As agencies identify additional files, the new documents will be uploaded to
@ USNatArchives
on a rolling basis, alongside those previously released, at http://archives.gov/ameliaearhart.
The answer to what happened to Ms.Earhart is one of those historical mysteries that people occasionally ponder. There are many others:
What happened to the Roanoke colony?
Did Richard Hauptmann really kidnap the Lindbergh baby?
Who was Jack the Ripper?
Questions like these can occupy hours of fanciful speculation. There are segments of the population that devote themselves to studying things like this to find answers. Unfortunately due to the passage of time, I don't think most people really have that great of an interest in these matters anymore. They'll read an article about these types of things if it appears online or in the newspaper and promptly forget about it.
Whatever information released about Ms. Earhart is too late for the people who knew her and loved her to benefit. That is the sad part.
From what I have pieced together, she couldn't even get off the ground in an airplane. She crashed getting out of the hanger on Ford Island. Her co-pilot did the flying.
She probably took over the controls after getting cocky since she was the "star", and she crashed them.
I would say she was a plant, either a distraction or a spy.
Don't care.
Start the fucking arrests.
louder
It does seem like a distraction
When the world with a classify something like this?
Cause she was likely a spy.
Who'd question the narrative of a female flying around the globe..
I asked Grok this question. They were classified due to the military search methods used, not because there was any big secret about the plane crash.

IMO this only serves to help us convince normies the government (and media) has always lied to us. Even when they didn’t need to.
Yup, there's value in everything the Trump team does and says
Everything is "national security"!

Why were they ever classified? Was she actually on some secret mission? And...who cares.
Earhart was a US military spy while doing her worldwide civilian flight, imo.
Huh. Well there's one I wasn't expecting.
