I've never even heard an explanation of why "*unt" is so objectionable to women. As far as I know, it is about on par with "bitch", but refers to vaginas. It is definitely a weird defamatory term. The history of it is probably pretty interesting.
There’s a register in Lowe’s for contractors, Here’s what I would do, have a manager selectively go up to people with legitimate purchases and tell them to come with me and bring them to the contractors only register. When some idiot shows up with an ice scraper in that line, tell them they have to prove they’re contractors to pay in that line.
These people have f all to do all day as it is. I would spot check for anyone on welfare or public servants skipping work.
They do this in packs because they crave attention and validation of their fellow commies. Sad, useless, bitter people. They hate the system at the same time as being dependent on the system.
It’s mostly just a waste of their time. I’m sure it’s frustrating for the staff on duty, but I doubt “Home Depot” is going to feel the pain of having a few stores that are accept returns at a slower rate for a few days.
Such a tactic would only slow down the returns area, which is usually (probably always) quite a distance away from the checkout area. And it would probably just make many "normies" realize how ridiculous it is to object to ILLEGAL ALIENS being deported.
Well, color me surprised-something in California actually costs less than a dollar😎. To me, this is amazing in and of itself. Not passing on how stupid these people are, actually doing this, in California.
I hope Home Depot survives this. It wouldn't surprise me if they vacated California because of this. California is a Communist run state and a government (at least at the state level, where they can afford it) run state. Please cut off all Federal funding of California-ASAP!
Home Depot has been such an abuser of covid and news of inflation. I bought a 25-foot roll of 14 gage romex wire the other day, and it was $36! They even had it in a locked case! The amount of copper in that 25 feet is worth less than $3! They have jacked up prices FAR above their cost on possibly EVERY item sold. I have been buying stuff from HD for decades, and have become really disappointed that they have decided to go with this business plan (but maybe rather than gripe, I should buy their stock :) )
They jack up the prices to cover the cost of people stealing it, and the cost of having to buy the cage and keys to lock up the stuff. Plus, it may be $3 worth of copper, but what did it take to turn that copper into something else?
Actually... the machinery, delivery of supplies, paying employees, rent the space to produce it... plus insurance for the business and probably for the employees. As someone in the jewelry business, I hear too often that "Gold is xx price... you are charging too much!!" Yeah. You are paying for the years of expertise, the tools, the machinery, plus all the expenses, taxes, shipping... it's a crap ton of money.
So my question comes from a place of hearing this too much from people who think the spot price of gold should be how much a ring costs.
I do know that jewelry has the highest markup of anything sold (groceries are the lowest :) ). A friend of mine was in the jewelry business. The biggest rip-off is diamonds.
I do agree there is a big markup, mostly because the wholesalers we buy our "cheaper" jewelry from have a big markup.
We have to carry a crap ton of insurance since people love to break into jewelry stores, even though we lock everything up in the safe at night. We have had 3 break ins in 14 years.. which is sad to say, but not a lot of break ins. Plus the gypsys come and are good at the switching out jewelry when you aren't paying attention, they are good at sleight of hand. Employees are working with high price stones and metals, and they break things, mess up, and of course they do steal things.
Someone steals groceries, the company loses maybe $1-200. Someone steals jewelry, we lost at least $250 to several thousand dollars. You can't report everything to insurance otherwise your rates will be even worse. So you eat a lot of loss.
We need very high security, including glass break alarms, safe alarms (oh, and expensive safes), cameras that are monitored, plus security that the power can't be shut off on, and is monitored 24/7.
On top of all that, we now need 3D printers that break all the stinking time, laser welders, engravers, and expensive equipment to create your special pieces of jewelry.. including jewelers who are demanding more and more, who need to be trained ($$$), and who are in and out.. onto something better (they think) so you are constantly hiring and dealing with unemployment, taxes, etc that state throws at us. Plus licensing for specific jewelry we make (we make their jewelry, they take a percentage of the sales).
Anyhow, yeah, jewelry has a high markup. It's a volatile market. It's also more expensive to have the training to turn gold and stones into something your wife or you will wear. It's more expensive to secure the store, the inventory, and have higher skilled and paid employees.
That's only scratching the surface. Jewelry is actually a really bad market to get into... don't even let me get started on the Etsy wire wrappers who think they are jewelers, the "self taught" "jewelers" who don't understand the skill, the people who buy crap diamonds off the internet and want us to turn them into something (the diamonds break, are cloudy, not the quality they think they are, or fake diamonds... then they hold us responsible for the deception of the online scammers!! ). Owning a grocery store with people stealing steaks sounds like a dream sometimes.
As a business, you can tell people where they can and cannot check out at. I would set up a special line for people purchasing a 17 cent scraper, so they have to stand in it for hours and do nothing but tie up one employee. Or open on the "self serve" stations for them.
Then I would have a special like for "purchases other than a 17 cent scraper" for real customers. Kinda like an express lane for small purchases being open. They can slow themselves down. Apparently since they don't have jobs, they can stand in line all day.
Since they are incapable of thinking outside the box, Hope Depot should just raise the price of that particular scraper & not allow refunds on that item all of a sudden.
They need to charge a $5 restocking.fee.for items under $1.
Came to say this.
GOOD JOB 4POG, the 17 cent bit was a giveaway
Last time a line of unkempt cunts that many feet long was seen in one place was the projection booth of a 1970s Times Square theater
Wah wah!!!! Think about their feelings! They can't cope with being called MEAN THINGS!
Sorry, but no, language policing is for cunts of the highest order, thank you very much...
World wide forum. It's a popular term in UK and AUS.
Admittedly, it does sound better with one of those accents🐸
I've never even heard an explanation of why "*unt" is so objectionable to women. As far as I know, it is about on par with "bitch", but refers to vaginas. It is definitely a weird defamatory term. The history of it is probably pretty interesting.
In the UK and AUS, such language is used as often as “hello” and “goodbye”.
Not suggesting it should be, here, just saying. Iirc M4 is from Aus.
He was calling everyone in line that. Not a woman. Not women in general. Just everyone the same, male and female.

That’s brilliant.
And then… close down all but one of the self help registers. If they like standing in line for no reason so much, let’s accommodate them!
Excellent idea! Idiots like to stand in line… I hate standing in line…
Sounds like a great use of their time! I prefer our method—boycott the store! I’m sure these people never go to Home Depot so it would be easy!
These people have f all to do all day as it is. I would spot check for anyone on welfare or public servants skipping work.

Dear Father, please send these people the Spirit.

I'd just call the cops if I was the store manager and send all the employees home for the day.
Sheep
Even around sheep you have to watch your back.

About another $3 :)

Okay, thanks for the details! (not too many people breaking into grocery stores :) )
That I didn't know. They were a good company when they opened, but probably changed over the years. If they went woke it is time for them to go broke.
Pathetic
Seventeen cent, you say?
All one has to do is look on REDDIT and search ICE and you'll see other schemes too. Does ICE monitor those posts? Makes me wonder.

The box store can probably endure this much better than these fools legs can carry their own weight.
It's obstruction of justice. Arrest them all.
put out a sign that says “all sales are final”
problem solved. your welcome.
But...a scraper is a tool. You mean there are actually leftards who know how to use a tool?
Tell me you don't have a job without telling me you don't have a job.
Since they are incapable of thinking outside the box, Hope Depot should just raise the price of that particular scraper & not allow refunds on that item all of a sudden.
That's easy enough to handle - just pull them from the shelves for awhile.
They got the idea from nvda roundtripping😀.
Sounds like a policy change…all sales under $5 are final, no returns.
Very simple. OUT Of Stock!!!! FO.
