Great point, why would all these wealthy people be buying up beach/shore front properties, if they actually believed water is rising, those properties would be underwater in a few decades.

As a Floridian homeowner we fear flooding like Houston, Texas has because of the over development of natural sinks, wetlands, marshes, ponds, etc. Paving it over means flood risk even inland increases.
Sea level rise even at 1-2 feet isn't gong to move the needle for the developed world.
And we all know that isn't happening or the Statue of Liberty would be partially underwater by now🤣
I grew up in Florida- nobody is worried about sea levels rising. Maybe in 15,000 years
