My Paw Paw was always grafting trees and I used to watch him because I was fascinated. I've wished so many times that I asked him to teach me but foolishly I thought he would always be around. He had a pear tree with 2 varieties of pears and one of his pecan tree I believe was grafted with a oak because the bark changed about five feet up and the tree limbs are low and spread out like a Live Oak.
Fantastic!!! It’s never too late in one’s life to learn and practice a new craft/hobby and most importantly? To pass that knowledge to younger generations!!! It may not always be the big battles that win, but rather the small ones that set the tempo! Passing on such a gift like this will help our future generations prosper. It’s called leaving this world better than we got it. Thank you for such a great post!!!
Anons may enjoy videos from this site, Nature Lost Vault, as well, describing medicinal plants, trees, etc that have been removed from common knowledge. (Of course we know why and by whom). The nice thing is this information is flowing freely on the Internet now, as if The Golden Age is already here, ready to be discovered. Those seeking the truth and working to break the chains of the evil matrix will discover these and many more wonders of God's world and share these discoveries with others.
I've watched a few of these now, they are well presented and very interesting. I don't have a green thumb but have been able to identify some of the plants in my own backyard!
I've been catching a lot of video shorts on youtube showing various grafting techniques. It is a very interesting topic, but out where I live it is so dry growing a tree that will deliver fruit takes some time.
My mother grafted roses but I have never heard of grafting different fruits to one tree. Not even in 18th and 17th century literature. I am flabbergasted. Where is this old orchard? I would travel a bit to try the fruit.
I always buy those small heirloom tomatoes during the winter. They are the only ones on the shelf with flavor during the winter, and they last for over two weeks just sitting on the counter.
I don't think i would live long enough to care for it and we live in a forest. But my daughter in law loves plants. That would be a lovely gift! Thank you.
No wonder he idolized you. I have been handed some challenges, but I have also been very fortunate in knowing some extraordinary people, including Michael. I miss him.
Awwww. And yes. There's a great reunion awaiting. Hang in there, kiddo. I know the hills and calmer valleys of grief. A dichotomy of pain and glorious, comforting learning. Like the creation of a pearl.
I've grafted tomatoes onto potatoes, grapefruit onto oranges and lemons. I would do more but those fruits don't grow well here. Not an ancient technique. Most all our fruits come from grafted fruits
Yes, the normal USA food supply is really not very tasty or healthy, but it ships well. I have been growing heirloom veggies organically & I have found many oriental veggies well suited to my climate. Because I live in a hot, humid subtropical climate with winters that have 1 or 2 days of freezing weather, growing fruit like apples, cherries, plums is just not practical.
It would be really cool if someone could figure out how to have a tree with avocados, limes, and somehow get it to graft tomatoes as well. I would call it a guacamole tree, and I'm sure I could sell the crap out of those. Talk about raising your property value - wow!

So excited to see this post! ✨
In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits (Rev. 22:2).
I haven’t seen the video yet. Will before I go to bed. Does it have detailed information on proper grafting techniques?

When we move, I want one or two of them.

Anytime fren.
I was doing this in 1965, as a highschool science project. It's not some blindingly new breakthrough.
