There arent that many on the country. Maybe 22 to 15 percent. So many democrats switching which means theyre very moderate. Dem doesnt nessessarily mean libtarded. So many people are just catching up to realizing what theyve been supporting was a lie
Most of the time, arguing with these people is pointless - they drank/drink the kool-aid and their egos won't let them consider the possibility that they may have been misled and may be wrong/misinformed.
If you want to continue the dialog, perhaps force him to provide concrete evidence of his claims (i.e., records of "convictions" - NOT allegations in court documents [since allegations are ONLY allegations and everyone is "innocent until proven guilty"] and not just msm, politicians' or influencers' opinions/posts). The process of looking for "real" proof (and not finding it) might quiet him a bit.
We only have so many years. I’d rather spend the rest trying to discern mistaken paths within Christianity.
It’s a much more important effort, and we should be more patient and open to it, anyway.

With .. probably everyone, the reason to hold a thing as truth is going to be either narrative or emotion. Narrative can be addressed through reasoning, as narrative tends to follow rational paths, but emotion is more difficult to address by that path. As liberals don’t hold their positions because of facts, but because of emotions, the method this man took was completely pointless.

I refuse to argue with liberals, it's like arguing with a blind person about the color of grass. Until they see it for themselves, the argument is futile. I don't even try to wake people up anymore, if someone refuses to wake up, it's on them at this point. They can't say I didn't try.
It's pointless because being a "liberal" really has nothing to do with politics. It has to do with the illusion that they, as a liberal, are more compassionate and hence, a "better" person than you. If they have to admit that they are wrong about any facet of their delusion -- then they lose their sense of moral superiority.
It took me years to figure it out and when I did -- well, I no longer have any liberal friends. The way I look at it is -- why would I want "friends" who draw their sense of self-esteem by feeling that they are more "enlightened", more "compassionate" and more "educated" than I am. To hell with them!

Liberals infuse left-wing narratives and causes into their identities. For a liberal to acknowledge the falsehood of those ideas would require them to kill a portion of their identity. It's not happening unless they experience a trauma or betrayal related to those ideas.
Its the sheer viceral hatred that accompanies my efforts to wake them up. I have given up on them, its getting too much, if I was younger I could handle it, but not now.
