But as a serious prospect, I think of it as lying between lunacy and apocalypse. Unfortunately, based on current trends, this is not at all unthinkable. What Democrat would say "No"? They are fully wedded to their insanity and perversity. They would risk destroying the world in order to gain power.

This makes me wonder if there is a deeper psychological analysis to be made. It seems that the left-Democrats have identified so completely with their zany and impractical ideology, that any power attainment by the "other" alternative (e.g., Trumpist MAGA) would not only demonstrate the invalidation of their ideology ("It is worthless")...but also the invalidation of their own personal identity ("I am worthless"). Have I hit on it? What do you think?
