At one specific dose, melittin tore through cancer cell membranes completely within an hour. Within just 20 minutes, it shut down the chemical signals cancer cells need to grow and multiply.
Bumblebee venom, which lacks melittin, did nothing. Zero effect, even at high concentrations.
Scientists then recreated melittin synthetically in the lab and got almost identical results, meaning no bees need to be harmed to develop the therapy.
Published in the peer-reviewed journal npj Precision Oncology, the findings are still early-stage. Human trials haven't happened yet.
But one thing is clear. Nature has been hiding answers in plain sight all along, sometimes inside the smallest creatures on Earth.

Well I stopped taking my lisinopril because I heard it had snake venom in it along with some other bp meds. At the time everyone seemed to believe it was bad and we all thought many prescription drugs docs put us were bad for us, so I stopped cold turkey. Yes, my bp is high, but I had always had really good bp even though I didn't work out, just always busy doing normal things raising my kids, even when pregnant it was always really good too. Drove my husband crazy because his bp has always been a little high.
Anyway, I noticed that after I stopped taking some type of bp meds the doc put me on for my migraines, that now I had high bp. So that's when my bp got high was after I stopped the meds. Now many years later and it's even higher, even when on the lisinopril it seemed to not work as good as it first did. I'm trying everything not to give in and go back on them. Nothing seems to be helping enough though, yet.
