I'd start with McAfee software. Perhaps there's an Easter Egg hidden.
Odd that it's only 90 characters (unless I miscounted). Hex is 16 count base. So, 10 characters too many or 6 too short, unless as you say, it was given extra for a purpose. Also encryption keys I'm familiar with are 128 or 256 characters, probably 512 or 1024 by now. This feels more like a key to enter into software to show you purchased it.
Keys aren't for "deciphering". They're randomized code to unlock something. It's equivalent to the number on a combination lock. The number itself has no meaning, it just gives access to the contents.
Hexadecimal was my first thought, but ruled it out because it contains an "M".
