I owe banks on 3 seperate credit cards, all at 0% Interest and came with welcome bonuses. It will be a shame if the collapse happens before I pay them off (Paying them swiftly in case I need or want to use again). I bought real money with them...
Banks Use people, but I use banks. They close me down, then how will I ever pay the unsecured debt? SS is protected from creditors.
I remember when debt ATMs came along and there were some people against them. Said banks were getting too powerful. I agree, they need reigned in. Maybe they should only be chartered in one state, I dunno.
Banks are evil. Get your money out of the banks now or two things will happen:. 1). You will never get your money out when the bank fails. 2). If and when you need your money for whatever you need it for, the bank will ask you what you need it for and if they don't like your answer you will not get your money.
Banks are not in the business of being your friend, they are in the business of making sure the Powers to Be have total access to your money for their own purposes. Remember, it's not your money unless you have it in you hand. How can it be in your hand when you put it in the bank?

I haven't yet encountered a coin dealer who didn't have junk silver to sell, so if you call one and they don't have any, just try another.
SD Bullion is a good place to buy precious metals online. Very reputable and they have a lower premium than JM Bullion. Just be aware that you are getting into this very late and prices have gone up quite a bit in the past months, so you will be paying up and the premiums will be fairly high. You might want to wait for a pullback in prices. If you do buy now, I would buy a small amount and then wait to see where prices go. SD Bullion also has weekly sales that are a good way to save money.
I, ahem, know some people who've bought from Moneymetals.com. The more you buy, the cheaper it gets.
If you have any pawn shops in your area, check with them. The pawn shops would probably use silver dealers for prices, melting down items they buy for the silver value, and maybe a lot of other things-but they should know where you can get your hands on some right now.
Unfortunately many of us live paycheck to paycheck and have very little or no savings. I have about 2.5k saved in the bank. As soon as I get paid, it goes right towards my rent and utilities and I’m left with little afterwards. It would be too much of a hassle if I didn’t have it in the bank.

Do your homework. My son in law is the CEO of a mid-sized credit union. He is a conservative, Christian, Trump supporting, honest, super smart guy, and my money is much safer than when I had it with n PNC.
EXACTLY!!! When you take out more than $4K from our credit union you need to tell them FOR WHAT... and when there was that scare on the banks earlier this year I think, I went to take out cash and they were only allowing people to take a max of $10K. Nice people at our credit union but they operate an awful lot like a bank...
The first time the teller asked me - all friendly-like, of course - why I was taking $10k out, I just looked at him and said, "I'm just moving money around. It's not good to leave it in one place too long." He didn't know what to say.
To my knowledge, none. When the banks started having issues and not allowing people to withdraw their money, I received a letter from mine. It started with, "We are not a bank".

The major problem with bitcoin is it's resource heavy and traceable because the ledger is visible to all.
If you want to lose your wealth to civil forfeiture and theft by all means buy things that can be physical seized or stolen.

After a lifetime in IT I have far less faith in computers and cryptography than you seem to have. All crypto systems but one can be broken. Any non-isolated computer system can be compromised.

I'm not defending Bitcoin. Bitcoin is one of the worst crypto's to keep private. It's an open ledger and has too much overhead to be practical. I prefer Monero's method of using ring signatures. And no, it can't be seized unless you're sloppy.
Yes you can lose your crypto wallet password like you can lose your physical IRL wallet. That's the fault of the person, not the wallets.
You're probably about as much of an expert in cryptography as you are in knowing what a fiat currency is.

Fiat currencies can be created with no energy expenditure whatsoever. That is what it means when people say they are "backed by nothing". On the other hand, take a look at how much energy is required to mine a single bitcoin block. And then note that that amount is increasing all the time, and for an amount of tokens that is halved every 4 years and eventually falls to zero (bitcoin is mathematically more scarce than gold). Bitcoin's backing is stronger than any precious metal. It is the purest, hardest representation of work that has ever been devised by humans.
And precious metals have been debased, diluted, printed over, confiscated, counterfeited, etc. every single time they have been used as currency in history. Anons are naive beyond belief if they think that returning to a gold standard on the other side of this is going to fix things. After a few generations, the banks will come up with a new way to print over the gold, and the cycle will start again. Bitcoin is harder money than gold or silver, and it eliminates the need for banks entirely.

change banks OR....provide direct loans thru an investment platform. Loans support farmers without crippling restrictions and bundled loans provide some measure of safety for investors.

Id like to see more often the option to buy with gabpay. I only had the opportunity to use it once and it was pretty slick for a buyer. Supposed to be far cheaper for merchants too. Reminds me of oldtimey paypal where you had to deposit then you can use. Took like 1/2 hour for first deposit to clear.

You can not count to 1 billion in an entire lifetime, and yet we have several thousand billionaires. Living abroad it was an eyeopener to see so many small businesses. They haven't removed them as much as here in the west. I enjoyed buying from small venders and using transportation that the driver is feeding his family from.
