My observation in Florida was the mask karens were reactionary against the laissez-faire attitude of Gov. DeSantis. Because he was willing to let authorities handle it on the local level (within reason), the karens became angry that he wasn't taking it seriously and instead tried to control us to assuage their fear and ignorance.
