My observation in Florida was the mask karens were reactionary against the laissez-faire attitude of Gov. DeSantis. Because he was willing to let authorities handle it on the local level (within reason), the karens became angry that he wasn't taking it seriously and instead tried to control us to assuage their fear and ignorance. I hope that makes sense.
I've considered this. Maybe W got sick of being treated like he's an idiot by people who are all in the same Cabal circles as he is and he just decided one day that he was turning them all in.
