Fascinating! Jesus' disciples asked him why he spoke in parables. He said, "For this reason I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand...But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear (Matt. 13:13, 16). Actually, the whole Bible is written in code, but it interprets itself. Follow the river through the Bible. It starts in Genesis, is passed through by the children of Israel, passes through a rock, flows out of the side of Jesus on the cross. John 4 and 7 show that the river is the Spirit which was not yet because Jesus had not died and been resurrected as a life-giving Spirit yet. It becomes a fountain in all who drink (of the Spirit) from Him, and it is seen in the last book of the Bible, Revelation 22. In short, River=Spirit.
Good news, you can't really sell your soul. Your soul is what you think, feel, and choose from moment to moment. It continually changes. If you think you sold your soul, start renewing your mind, especially with the mind of Christ. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. Then your feelings will change and your choosing will change. Voila! No longer owned by Satan. We are not body and soul. We are body, soul, and spirit. And only Christ can enter your spirit.
