Sooners won demonstrating patience and selflessness game 1 of the men's college world series. North Carolina showed off their superstars.

For the Sooners, I saw sacrifices by #6 and #17, and 2 home runs by the catcher (#48). The freshman pitcher #99 showed perseverance to weather the opening NC onslaught in the first inning to throw a season high 100 pitches.

The pitcher that read the book while his freshman brother pitched in an earlier game to get to the finals (#22) closed out the win for the Sooners. The guys in the stands had removed their shirts in the rain and were waving them in the air to celebrate, including a little boy with his Mom grimacing.

North Carolina belonged in that game, and I think they learned from it.
