One is never too old to learn. Despite the length of this interview I was riveted from the beginning. I was astounded at Jacob's level of intelligence, breadth of knowledge, and his articulation in transforming his thoughts into words. I may not agree on everything he said, but he connects the dots so succinctly that you cannot be dismissive in what he had to say, and I have completely changed my opinion of him. Well worth the watch.

I will be unpopular for saying this, but as I live Italy I will. Berlusconi was a colourful figure who was brash, outspoken, but extremely patriotic and a conservative in his political beliefs. He was also a staunch supporter of Georgia Meloni, the current conservative Prime Minister. He was no angel, but at least his sexual shinanigans were with women. I was in Florence airport, Italy recently and I was shocked when there were 2 men in the women's toilets. I travel through there often, and it has never happened before. The one left just as I entered. The other had his back to me as he was going through his suitcase. I spoke to him in my poor Italian pointing out it was a woman's toilet. After I left the toilets I happened to bump into him again. He rounded on me and started making a spectacle. Wrong person to pick on, which he didn't know at the time, but he clearly did after the interaction. The madder I get, the better my Italian becomes. Instead of apologies, it became an Italian soap opera. All rather odd. Is this now becoming a deliberate way of making women feel uncomfortable in a setting where one should feel safe?
That may be, but I live in Tuscany and this summer has been the hottest July I have experienced in the 10 years I have been here. We normally have these temps in August for about 2 weeks. So not looking forward to next month. Do I believe in climate change and zero carbon emissions. No. It's a crock of shit. We and plants need carbon for survival.
