"They would kill me for a cigarette...but I don't wanna die just yet..." A classic. That was our theme song for working in the Number 2 reactor plant on the USS Eisenhower.

Still haven't seen Top Gun: Maverick. I'll get around to it, I suppose, but that bitchy hissy fit he threw on the set [ I think it was one of the Mission Impossible movies] regarding masks really showed me he is nothing more than a prima donna, albeit a rich as shit prima donna.

Kathy Bates is a great actress. Dolores Claiborne is something else. Misery was disturbing. She really puts it all into her craft.

Been listening to The Fall of the Cabal by that gal from Europe. Last night in part 22 [I think] she went into detail about the child trafficking. It was thoroughly sickening to listen to.

I'm more interested in the Pink Floyd sync to this movie. Some guy told me about this and one of these days I'm going to try it. Apparently if you start the movie and play Dark Side of the Moon while muting the movie track, there are eerie coincidences between the music and the movie. What the hell, it's a way to pass the time.

Perfect lyric of the day, from Spirits in the Material World, by the Police:

"Our so-called leaders speak... With words they try to jail ya... They subjugate the meek... But it's the rhetoric of failure..."

Susan Rice, with Obama as her mentor and confidant.

Along the same lines, I was surprised by the dynamic range of Diana Ross' Love Hangover. When you play that on a transistor radio it's one thing, but when you play it on a Klipsch/Polk system it is something else.

Any astronomers in here? I have my eye on a 127mm Maksutov Cassegrain scope to supplement some big binoculars that I have. Just curious if there are other stargazers here.

To a broader extent, that planted a seed of distrust in me that has grown stronger over the years. 9/11 is a big one. If and when the real truth about that comes out, a lot of people aren't going to handle it.

The first thing I thought of is the scene in Doctor Zhivago where the replacement troops are headed to the front and the war-weary ones are coming back home, and they convince the fresh troops not to go and to turn back - which they do, and then they beat the head officer to death with their rifle butts. Man, that was such a great movie.

When I read the book Mortal Error, regarding the assassination of JFK. That was in the late 90's, I believe. Up until that point it never made sense that Oswald could hit that target, scoring two headshots in 6 seconds with a bolt-action rifle.

Nice to know someone else sees the same thing. Personally I think the guy is a self-glorified blowhard, but hey, it doesn't hurt to hear what he has to say and then evaluate that with things others are saying.

In 1929 there was a book written entitled Wind, Sand & Stars. It details the entire black-on-black slave trade. Amazing what a little research combined with reading will do. All whites did was take advantage of an economic opportunity to obtain workers for a labor-intensive crop, cotton. I am not condoning this, but blacks sold blacks, and were often very cruel. Enough with the falsehoods.

Agreed. I'm not into cats but this dude was pretty cool.

Still not sure about this guy, and I've been listening to him for two years. The other night when he was talking to Nino, it almost seemed as if he was punting everything into 2023. It appears he always has to have the last word, too. Kind of annoying.

Yeah, they're a lot of fun and cut the mowing time down considerably.

Outstanding analysis. All you have to do is set some time aside and listen to Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall, and you will get so many red pills your head will spin.
