Dont hear me wrong, I do think that they're pretty cool. I build battery packs and harvest 18650 cells to power crap, so I get the cool factor as well as the performance. What I dont dig on (new cars electric and ICE) is the control the mothership has over your shit. Home chargers are the way to go and for around town, I get that they're a blast. I would love to have an off grid pad with a powerwall and large capacity LiFePO4 storage bank. Driven by both panels and wind generation. I will also install geothermal for conditioning the air space. I am definitely not anti electric. Had a couple with kids move in the neighborhood a few years back, they're no longer in the area. But, when they moved in, rent was paid for them, they were driving newer cars than I have (two year old cars) that were provided and from what I heard from neighbors and former friends, they were netting over 4K a month and had food benefits too.
