It's nothing more than a guess. There's no way to even come close to accurate estimates, even in America. Countries like Africa that have villages and towns out away from the cities likely wouldn't be counted or at least not counted accurately.
There are many countries where things are not in such an orderly manner as they appear to be in some countries. Population counting partly depends on census data and not everywhere does that and census data is greatly flawed.
Census data requires people to fill out the shit they get in the mail and be accurate with it. You can't go by addresses because I still use 3 addresses and that's just me. I could say more if you count that my address might still be on file from when I lived in GA years ago since I had a GA drivers license and FL drivers license.
I receive mail at 3 address still, that I know of. Would I be counted as 3 people or just 1? Would I be potentially counted in 2 different states or just 1? People move all the time and addresses change.
Birth and death certificates are also not reliable due to people moving to a different country, etc.
It's not a knock on old people, I'm 42 so eventually I'll be old. We see a pattern of people staying in congress, senate, supreme court until they literally die and that is literally. People shouldn't be allowed to stay in those types of positions in government until the day they die.
It can be argued that president of the USA is the most powerful person on the planet so wouldn't it be good to have presidents that are not considered senior citizens? It's just a simple fact in life that everything in the body wears down as we age and someone in their 70s will not typically be as capable as someone in their 50s or 60s.
There are instances where young people are worse off but that's not very common. Typically people are thinking about and planning retirement from work by time they reach 70 and often even before 70.
There needs to be a cut off somewhere because all these people in government that are there until they literally die is just not good for those types of positions of power that can affect all of us and the entire world. I just used 70 as a general age since that's around when most people retire.
This is exactly why I have always been against the people staying in office until they die. There should be an age limit regardless of good health. I don't believe anyone over 70 should be in office within the government.

I remember back then when there were only maybe a dozen or less channels on TV at all.
Now days people are caught up in the 1000+ TV channels, endless internet content, video games, social media and more.
All of these things prevent the direct real human interaction and that surely has and will have negative effects on generations of people.
I don't think people should cut off their entertainment but definitely should greatly reduce the amount of it because it's helped create a society of elites that are very much out of control.

I have a nephew in his early 20s that probably couldn't even walk a mile without getting tired and he's not over weight either, just lazy.
I'm 42 and can pretty much walk 10+ miles and more but I've had some injuries in my late teens so some bones hurt sometimes when walking a lot but energy-wise I feel great.
The only time I won't spend any time outside is if it's raining but that will change eventually.
When I moved from north FL to south FL, I gave up a house and decided to rent until my wife and I are truly decided on what city to settle down in. With me being only 42 and her 37, we're still relatively young and have plenty of time before finding a new house to settle down into.
When that time comes, if there's no screened in porch or covered area, I'll just build one. That seems to be another major difference in generations. The newer generation doesn't seem to be as mechanically inclined in life and lack many useful skills but it's not really their fault.
The younger generation has grown up in a time of cell phones, internet, endless TV channels 24/7, social media, and more. When I was a kid cell phones weren't even a thing and then they had the bulky mobile phones for certain cars and the giant mobile phones that were cordless.
I remember the old rotary phones too lol. I was raised to be outdoors and enjoy this world. Sit outside and see lizards running around, such a simple thing but just part of the world.
Oddly enough while I currently live in the middle of the city, saw a baby possum sleeping outside but had to wake him up because he was on a tarp of mine.

Big city life takes people away from nature which is most of this planet. Us humans are just a tiny part of the planet and so many live in the big city concrete jungles and rarely ever see or interact with nature which is most of the planet.
I'm not saying people should spend all their time outdoors but people that choose to work nonstop and stay indoors often will suffer mentally and physically throughout life.
People that are active and outdoors a lot typically will live a longer life, a healthier life, and often a more stress free life. We're only guaranteed this one life so we should enjoy it but we also can live 100 years so taking a pause from everything can be more about mentally recharging than physically.
