I have to come to the defense though of the former Marine issue, from the time I was in boot camp, and on we were always told there are no ex-Marines only former Marines. This will be very easy to resolve: find a United States Marine. Any age from anywhere. Hell, go down to your local recruiting center. Ask them if they are no longer active duty, are they a former Marine or an ex-Marine.
Then, when you have your answer, you can return here and tell us what that answer was.
