While the hardware may be manufactured there, there is no need for a daily link to Beijing to broadcast shows from the SSA ... this is frigging outrageous. It'd be like seeing "Perform a daily line test with Moscow studios ... ".

The Chinese broadcast a lot of "learn Chinese" shows over satellite ... to Central and South America. Someone I thought I knew at the time had one of those unlocked satellite boxes before they changed the encryption to something less easy to defeat.
I couldn't believe the amount of Chinese TV being broadcast into South and Central America. My Spanish is OK ... I didn't hear any political bullshit during the broadcasts, but it was frigging peculiar that they'd be doing that to simply expand relations with those regions.
I only got to watch about 10 minutes of it before everyone was bored ... and, of course, nobody cared. Sad.
The equipment used has nothing to do with the content feed. As someone who works in this field, this is strange. Need to visit the SSA website to see if there is Chinese content. Not sure why there would be.

My spouse worked for the National Academy Social Insurance, a DC think tank that focused on social security and she mentioned more than one time how odd it was that NASI hosted the Chinese delegation. We have no idea why. What is the connection between US social security system and the Chinese???

Yes, they staff for the government, but they probably staff for other stuff too. It's a stretch to assume that this is a job for the Social Security Admin. Not impossible, but ... not exactly a smoking gun.
Could be the source of those fake videos of the harassments of the dems on the 6th. Would love to see this proven.
