It isn’t working for shit. Not enough generation capacity. I’m sitting here in the Houston area without power like hundreds of thousands. Not rolling blackouts. Completely out. Might get power back tomorrow. Pool pipes and well head will likely freeze and break. I think I was able to drain all of the water from the house pipes to prevent those from freezing. Fingers crossed.
And the website of our local power distributor isn’t working.
I’m on a well. I also don’t have a home generator. No power means no water. It also means I can’t circulate my pool water to prevent it from freezing. We can’t drain our pools in the South, like here in Houston at least, like you folks up North. I did have the water running mostly everywhere before the power went out. I finished dumping everything else like the line to the ice maker this morning. Fingers crossed that the house pipes will be okay as they should be empty. My well head and above ground pool pipes are another problem. I do have my well head wrapped as well as I can with insulation, trash bag, furniture blanket, and another trash bag.
Beyond that I do have a small generator and am able to make coffee and cook with a toaster oven. I’d rather not be outside trying to grill. My grill is on the dark north side of the house and being a kamado it’s impossible to move. I also have a natural gas fireplace so we’re huddled around it.
Roads aren’t great. Rather not wreck. Heat lamps likely sold out already.
I knew how to prepare for a hurricane. Total power outage during winter wasn’t a thought. I figured like 1989 there would be rotating blackouts. Not really that bad. We’ve been out since around 2AM and don’t expect to get power back until tomorrow at the earliest.
I've done that since I was a kid. My dad always kept all sinks dripping and the tube, I know do it in my own house. Crazy part is it's not bad here in DE yet!
Yeah, but a lot of our power comes from the wind turbines in west Texas. Due to the ice they can't run. We are having rolling blackouts right now. Where I am, I'm getting 45 minutes of power and then 45 minutes without power. So we are trying to do stuff around when we have power lol.
The second it comes on, I'm starting a load of laundry or fixing some food lol
We did recently get a generator, so my husband is getting that set up right now.
Whelp - that sounds like a damn good reason to move to Florida instead of Texas.
Tons of oil and natural gas... and your moronic politicians rely on "renewables" that don't fucking work... Brilliant. My suggestion: shoot them (in minecraft).
To be fair, this is highly unusual circumstances. I'm 33 and have lived in Texas my entire life. This is the first time we have ever had rolling blackouts like this in my area, at least. Our winters are usually very mild and we haven't had snow like this ever in my life. We're lucky if our snow sticks for a day or two.
And I'm sure some people's houses have gas heat here in Texas. My water heater is heated with gas. We mostly use air conditioning down here. Our winters are pretty short and mild. Most years winter lasts maybe 8-10 weeks.... and has some warm spells mixed in. This is all very unusual.
Florida is a nice state, and they don't have a mask mandate. But I think our economy may be better. Just don't use this one incident to deter you hahaha. It's very very rare. And the 45 mins without is really not a big deal. I'm watching movies on my laptop while I fold laundry.
My liberal boss keeps telling me it’s climate change. He is supposed to be smart. I told him everything comes in cycles and we’re in the midst of a grand solar minimum. I dont know how many times I told him we live on a dynamic planet.
Liberalism is both a mental illness and a learning disability.
Liberals live in a fantasy world based on how they think things "should" work to match up with their leftist ideologies while denying anything in reality that conflicts with those ideologies. That is a mental illness.
Liberals cannot learn from their many mistakes, because they can never admit that following their ideologies created mistakes in the first place, or their whole ideological house of cards would come crashing down. This is a learning disability.
Power is out because of 'high demand' in most of Texas right now. Something to do with ERCOT. I've lived in Texas my whole life, these rotating power outages seem fishy.
It's because our wind turbines can't run. We are the 5th largest producer of wind energy in the world. At least that's what I've heard. I don't know. My husband is getting our generator set up, so we can at least have some power during the blackout times.
Rotating feeder outages helps lessen the impact to everyone in general. Emergency services and hospitals are the last to go. It’s an effort to reduce the chance of a full on blackout. Demand tonight will be roughly 20,000 MW above capacity so we have to shed load to keep the frequency from deviating too far from 60Hz. If the generators become unstable everything cascades. The Obama admin had a big role in this with pricing coal plants out of existence and wind is too unstable. The next 24hrs will be critical
In Texas....this is all just a little too coincidental. Barely a cold front all winter and then the week of the trial BAM, 100 year winter storm that keeps on giving. Seems like a huge diversion. What were they planning...convict and then the firing squad? Nobody could move from the states that supported him the most.
In the more southern states is electric heat typically used? Where it's colder we typically have natural gas so no additional drain on the power grid to warrant rolling blackouts like California needs during heat waves due to increased A/C use.
Yes we have electric heat. Our water-heater runs on gas. We just don't typically need as much heat down here, so it's rarely an issue. I'm in TX, and we are having rolling blackouts. I heard that a lot of it is because our wind turbines can't run. We are the 5th largest producer of wind energy in the world.
In TN, where we have TVA, gas lines are just now being laid...you know.... cause TVA didn't slow that down. My house is all electric. Prob looking at a $500 electric bill this month no doubt
Northeast here, we have a reasonable robust grid. It's only with heavy snowfall taking out trees that we worry. Even then the local power company is on it within the hour. Have plenty of backups for light, heat, & coffee making however.
This fact sheet on the NEI website says wind turbines only supply 17% of the power for Texas... so its not just frozen turbines causing the rolling blackouts in Texas: https://www.nei.org/resources/fact-sheets/texas
Why are you talking about me like you're not responding to my comment?
I don't think either of those things are impossible and that is an outlandish attempt at a strawman.
I'm saying that not everytime 17 arises in normal life is attributable to Q sending a wink. In fact almost every example I've ever seen is completely nonsensical with even the slightest but of scrutiny applied (assuming the scrutinizer is capable of intellectual honesty.)
That's fair, but I'd say you're making a mistake. It isn't that I don't support the Q movement, i think it is a movement we sorely need in this world of lies. However, I'm not necessarily impressed with the direction the community is headed. Grounded realism and being able to scrutinize conjecture are fundamental to learning the truth.
I see almost none of that in this community (currently) and as a result we're running away and entering into deluded levels of misinformation just as bad the MSM.
I would love to be able to continue working towards improving this community by bringing things back to reality and focused on the truth, but I understood it's a tough pill to swallow.
To be fair I'm just some nobody to you, but I'm actually a "successful" (entirely self appointed lol) researcher. I solved the entire Seth Rich case from top to bottom and had a book set to be published by Dan Bonginos publisher until Biden won and they got cold feet.

Maybe I can do some kind of post explaining my approach to research and investigation in a constructive way. Thanks for reaching out and no hard feelings either way.

Our power was out 9 hours today. Praying it stays on.
Can u get the generator close enough to the well to attach one of those big metal lamp lights to keep well head warm?
Roads aren’t great. Rather not wreck. Heat lamps likely sold out already.

JJ Watt left Houston and took their Watts with him? *shit comment. Great opportunity
LMAO. Good one!
praying for my Houston pedes
praying for my Houston pedes
Ditto
We are in Dickinson and we never lost power..... Guess we should be very thankful....

We must find a cure... won't you please help?
Just learning this fact tonight - as I sit in a DFW suburb in the dark, with kids and dog while it’s 8 degrees outside.
Power is out because of 'high demand' in most of Texas right now. Something to do with ERCOT. I've lived in Texas my whole life, these rotating power outages seem fishy.

That’s what happens when you rely on the wind and sun for power.
Welcome to Californication. Tis global warming with no back up. Purposeful, I believe.
Been without power for 24 + hours.
Also - entire state of Texas under Emergency Declaration. Does that mean it's under the control of FEMA?
Texas is starting to look a little bit like California.
If the lights are out know that Q is in control?
Safe, clean, efficient, cheap, reliable nuclear now!
I live in Idaho, and we never have trouble. Hydroelectric is great too, although people complain about the Salmon because of the dams

China has its own HAARP equivalent?
And that genius Gates wants to spread ash in the air to block the sun and save us from global warming. https://www.forbes.com/sites/arielcohen/2021/01/11/bill-gates-backed-climate-solution-gains-traction-but-concerns-linger/

Welcome to Alaska.
Electric heating is extremely expensive, so I would guess that only warmer states would use it since they don't get cold very often
When I search this I get an add for Wayfair. Doubt it means anything, but...
Clean your browsing history and cookies.
yeah ever since i opened the wayfair .win link im getting them too.
Seriously. Tons of rug ads now
finally something better about being on the East Coast

Your roof will be fine. It takes more than 10” to bring a roof down.
Houses are built differently in the South. Tissue paper and toothpicks. Not a hit on the South, I live there
Roof will be fine, Michigander here
You need a couple feet of snow to worry about your roof
Then raining then freezing
Is this our “Dark Winter” punishment for the people
HAARP?
A storm, you say....??
Here are the folks leading the power organization that controls power for 19 million people. Probably some good digging here.https://www.spp.org/about-us/leadership/
Sssoo.......what are the 17 states?
These look to be the "17" states.http://pricecontourmap.spp.org/pricecontourmap/
Also, I counted 14 maybe 15 on this map. Not sure where the 17 ? came from, comms possibly.
Stupid Dems and their weather manipulation, are they trying to punish texas for the repeated poking them in the eye?
Willing to bet it's the same 17 states that Leonardo SPA flipped votes in.
Thanks Biden! The country is so much better now!
Storm is here?
This fact sheet on the NEI website says wind turbines only supply 17% of the power for Texas... so its not just frozen turbines causing the rolling blackouts in Texas: https://www.nei.org/resources/fact-sheets/texas
Could this storm be a "scare event?"
which states?
Prolly every state that voted for Trump
Lower Michigan is getting bitch slapped. And we voted for Trump but it got stolen. Lol
I know Nebraska is one after speaking with some friends
17 states were effected by the snowstorm in Texas?
OR are peeps and pepes thinking this might be the start of the 10 days darkness???
Could HAARP be in play you think?
Look at the temperature map. Looks like a big middle finger going through the center of the country.
It took about 30 seconds.
