According to a show about the VC25 that I saw on the History Channel, the backup plane flies on all overseas missions. CONUS, not so much.

There are two identical birds used as AF1. As far as I've read (up until Biden took office), both AF1 birds have never been out of service simultaneously. My gut feeling says that one is in for service and Trump parked the other. Biden isn't allowed AF1 and the media is running cover.
Even the video of him getting on it looked stitched together from older vids, versus when Trump gets on and off in a single uninterrupted take.
And the fact they haven't used AF1 callsign for him a single time
