I was talking to my 80+ mother about the covid vaccination, and of course, she was surprised that I'm not going to get it. She was saying how happy she is to be able to do so many things now that she has been vaccinated. I asked her why vaccinated people think people who don't want to be vaccinated should get the vaccination. She said it was to protect others. I said, "Why should vaccinated people care if others aren't vaccinated; they received the vaccination, so they are protected, right?". She didn't really have an answer. I said, "If some people want to swim at a beach where sharks are known to exist, and others don't want to swim there, why should those people care if others want to risk swimming at that beach?". Again, no answer, and she concluded by saying, "Well, we're not going to agree on this topic". The MSM's ability to sway people into this "it's for the protection of others", combined with their ability to make people think the government is doing them a great favor by "permitting them to go on with their lives after being vaccinated", is a pretty scary phenomena going on in our country!

That’s exactly how my husband is. We had good conversations before we got married, but covid has completely shut down any portion of him that was willing to think critically.
For a lot of normies, the level of insidious evil and sheer scope of global involvement is just too much to process so they shut down, brush it off as conspiracy and bury their heads in the sand.

I've noticed that this is especially the case for old people. The boomer generation seems to have this inherent trust of the MSM. My father was the same way before he passed - no matter what evidence I showed him, if it conflicted with CNN, it couldn't be true.

Usually the answer I see when it comes to some getting the vaccine and others not is that "it just lessens symptoms," "you can still give people covid." Which means it's not really a vaccine right?? Same as the flu shot, helps lessens symptoms... if you get the "right" strain. You can still get it and pass it to others.

Had a similar conversation with my 80yo mom who voted for Biden because Trump is “such a brat”. She is in a rest home on lockdown since April of 2020. She isn’t allowed out and we aren’t allowed in. I invited her to my sons birthday where all the rest of the family would be and she stated she couldn’t come. I asked why because she has been vaccinated. She says they wouldn’t even let one woman go to her husband funeral. To make her think, I told her that I didn’t understand. That she should be safe now right? She had no answer. Btw the following week she complained of a sore throat and they locked her in her room for 3 days. Now if she can’t get out and no one but masked workers get in, how did she get a sore throat?
