Happy Easter! I know a thread was made when the new calendar people celebrated Easter but I want to wish my fellow Orthodox a Happy Easter as well!

God bless you. It matters not what calendar you operate under. Jesus Christ is the Son of God, He was born of virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, was crucified on the cross at Calvary and rose on the 3rd day. He sits at the right hand of God. He loves us and wants us to accept Him by faith. I have accepted Him and I can tell you it has made a tremendous difference in my life. God bless you.
Actually it does matter, not for salvation but for when we celebrate our feasts and fasts for Him and His saints! I am sure you enjoy when someone wished you a happy Easter or Merry Christmas. While it has nothing to do with your salvation, it does have to do with celebrating with your fellow man!

Read the book of Colossians. It deals with this issue specifically. Religious holidays were indeed placeholders. But we have the reality now in Christ. ALL religious holidays are obsolete.

No one is judging anyone. Saying it matters is not judging.
Prayers can not become incantations
Praying to God is praying to God.
You don’t get to judge someone’s faith because you have decided their prayer is incantation.
If you do not eat His flesh and drink His blood, you can not be saved.
Did you know many in the early church were martyred because they believed they were eating the body of Christ and were therefore called cannibals by unbelievers?

Read the Gospel of John
Jesus himself said it: unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood, you have no part in me.

Read the 6th chapter of the book of John and pay attention to the text and context. The context is eating bread, eating manna, and “eating Christ”.
John 6:63 is the punchline. The “flesh” that he earlier said you must “eat” to be saved matters not. The Spirit is what counts. His words are Spirit and they are Life.
Christ also said, “If your eye offends you pull it out. If your hand offends thee cut it off”. Christ taught continuously in parables to teach Spiritual truth.

I believe what person above was trying to portray is that Christ is not tied down by a day. The date is just a place holder until the day christ takes a place fully in your heart. Then every day is a feast and celebration. So every day you fellowship with man thru Christ

One thing I love about us having the later Easter is that I can buy the eggs and candy for my kids at discount ? they get all the Easter fun for less cost.

Yes, we do have orthodox Easter. The interesting thing about it is the time leap to the catholic Easter. Almost a month.
Logical thinking says, one date of Easter must be at least wrong. But it could also be both. Does it matter? No, as long as you have relationship with Jesus, you are safe.

The Orthodox have a different way of calculating Pascha (Easter). Notice the word “Pascha” is derived from the word for “Passover”, with Jesus representing the Paschal lamb, which was sacrificed. He sacrificed himself for all of us.
