Conscript militaries get, otherwise proficient, good people needlessly killed.
Not to mention, they are unconstitutional as being involuntary servitude.

As a veteran grunt, I would not want to rely on someone forced to serve by a draft.
If the situation is bad enough for a draft but the cause is righteous, good people will volunteer.

Nope. Drafts suck. Anyone who says they don't either hasn't served before, is misinfo med or illinformed if they did serve and never really looked at what an ALL VOLUNTEER SERVICE does, or is just plain stupid.
Sorry to call you out on that, but it's true. Either you're a former draftee is who's still pissed your number got called up and want to share in that misery, or you've never served a day in your life.
I've spoken with tons of former draftees at th V.A. awaiting some kind of medical care related to their time in Korea or Vietnam. Most have said if they could go back in time and tell their younger selves what mistakes to avoid, it would be to tell them to haul ass to Canuckistan and dodge the draft. That all hate the fact they were drafted and ALL have some form of med issue related to their service. They were considered a more expendable "asset" because of the draft. The others have some sort of misguided view that because they were drafted, everyone else should enjoy in that misery. And for what, they ask? So that we would know what it feels like to be drafted and forced to do something we wouldn't want to do if we weren't forced to do it.
Sorry, but fuck that. Our military is stronger BECAUSE we aren't conscripted into what is essentially fighting slave force, like China or even Israel. We can walk away. Sure, it's not without consequence, but I've never met someone who went AWOL and was imprisoned or put to death for it since we ended the draft. And I've known more than a few that went UA or AWOL. All they got was Non Judicial Punishment and a quick ticket out with a Dishonorable Discharge. No jail time or death sentence for fleeing and evading for being essentially enslaved/indentured by/to the Fed Govt.
Just have them move to Seattle.

Oooohhhh that’s one of those shows that you watch in horror as the virtue signaling milk toast flounders. It’s hard to look away but you have to because you feel sick. I’ve thought for a long time that between high school & college, kids should work for 2 years helping communities. I think right here in America would be good. They’d have to DO something like help on a farm, build houses, clean up cities…. Wouldn’t that be a wonderful way for them to contribute, grow up and learn self sufficiency?
Maybe I'm a little to supportive of freedom and individuals rights but I kind of think of mandatory military service is maybe even worse than mandatory vaccination. We haven't even been in a war that we should be in for a long time so being forced to invade afghanistan because of 9/11 would be a huge infringement on your first amendment right.
Tbh mandatory military in the US has got to be the stupidest thing I've ever heard of.
If you're supportive of freedom then mandatory military service would be a good, how can we have freedom without protecting it? I think it would teach all these snowflakes to have some respect for our flag, anthem, and veterans. Give them some discipline too. That is if the military doesn't get infiltrated like it's looking like, but i think it's the appear weak when you are strong theory. It wouldn't have to be going overseas, maybe just working as a cook, or an engineer, lots of jobs in the military, would teach trades too instead of useless critical race theory and shit like that in college. Less people going into debt rushing into college for no reason when they aren't ready or mature enough. Military would mature them a bit. Definitely agree we shouldn't be in pointless wars but if we fix this country and have less corrupt people in control, i think mandatory military service would be a benefit to the country, if we did it right.
If your a supporter of freedom you can't support forcing people to goto war. You can't support freedom by violating it. You sound just like the mandatory vaxx supporters tbh.
And to answer how will we have freedom? Well at the moment we have the world's most powerful military without forcing anyone to do anything.
Let's look though? We did not at all need to fight viet nam for outlet freedom but people were forced to go there, become maimed or die. That war, or operation as they like to dislmiss it was not about anyone's freedom. Nor were any of the wars in my life time. I was born in 1975 and none of the wars we've been in had anything to do with freedom, not American freedom or the freedom of the people we invaded. To force people to join the military is to force them to serve in those wars where they have a chance of becoming crippled or killed and many of those people will have children. None of that is remotely linked to freedom.
Having the choice to join has the effect of creating a strong military where as the draft produced a confused military full of people who had no business in combat. Example:vietnam vs WW2
AGAIN, even if the was are important ones like WW2 it is best to let people enlist of their own freedom, but our recent history shows that most wars are about special interests, not about defending our freedom or our country in any way.
You may have valid points about the benefits that very few people have received by joining as in learning a trade or becoming an engineer, but that does not override that person's first amendment right. The vaccine could be said to have beenefits but forcing it on people is a violation of their own space and freedom. You can't establish freedom with tyrant.
The military only needs a handful of engineers and cooks, any way, but even if they needed as many cooks as they did soldiers there is still no justification for violating that person's rights.
Remember. The govt belongs to the people, the people are not govt property. The entire war that is being waged on America right now with he vax etc is about reversing that one thing that makes America great. They want you to be their property. The plan you propose for all citizens to be forced into military servitude would make it ALOT easier for them to make every citizen govt property. When you are in the military they can force vaccinate you and you ARE govt property. They actually do have the authority to chip all military personnel.
Your idea is so idealistic and not thought out.if you want to become a military engineer, great, use your freedom to join the military.

This model has worked for Israel! I believe it would improve our workforce as well!! Teaching young adults discipline, i.e. getting up early, being responsible to make your bed, laundry, follow orders, working together with others that you may not agree with, etc. LIFE SKILLS which our kids are missing out on in our parenteral methods. I am not saying they should serve in the military but believe boot camp would be a start, then position them in State/Federal Parks too!
