Through your Mac, through your iPhone, because of iCloud integration and backdoors you know they built into iOS and MacOS. Everything you research, everything you have posted, every site you have visited, every photo you saved, every image you edited, everything that was sent to you that you didn't even ask for, every joke, every meme. All of it can be used against you.
This is freaking madness. Apple needs to stand down. I will never give them another cent of my money. Ever. I'm almost a fanboy, but they've lost that. I have many Mac computers, 4 iPhones in the house, headphones, etc. NEVER AGAIN!!! Replacing it all. iCloud done. I'm out.

Backing up my phone now (takes fucking forever to make my phone cooperate with my computer) and then I'm wiping it clean and getting a dumb phone. I'm so fucking sick of being treated like a child by my government. I'm sick of the excuses to pry more and more into people's lives and control them. The corruption is out of control. No one should trust that they are safe from anyone who can manipulate anything they want to the degree no one will question the "experts who make the claim" as we now see with this covid and vaccine catastrophy. Nothing they say will make me believe they are doing this to save the children. They could care less about those poor kids, they just want more and more control.

We were so much better off before all this modern era tech came into our lives. I miss the 80's. I hate it all now, and I hate social media. It's turned everyone into an asshole behind the safety of their screens. When this was first coming out, I thought we would all have access to information to elevate our lives and educate ourselves like never before, the sky was the limit, I thought we were heading to a golden era of humanity..... instead everyone decided to use the tech and the internet to turn our whole world into idiocracy. I thought we were better than that. I thought wrong. I underestimated just how selfish and stupid humans really are. If I could find a cave to live in, I would move in a heartbeat.

Back up every day if need be to prove what is on your phone was not there before and there is no data trail indicating you downloaded it (metadata). That really solves nothing. They still have complete access to the storage and logs on your device.
You lose either way: They can find anything you actually did, or they can add whatever they want if you're pure. Disabling iCloud just means it won't also be on their servers.

I never use I cloud for this very reason for my photos. I don’t know who has access to them. Not that I have anything private I take photos of.
This isn’t about saving children. If anything it’s likely going to be used to harvest images of your own children. Have a photo of them taking their first bath? Better expect it to show up on the dark web after a “security leak”. Apple could give a fuck less about helping kids, the don’t do anything unless motivated by money. Fuck Apple and fuck big tech. Turned off all iCloud Drive syncing, and downloaded/removed all photos and turned off iCloud photo syncing for all my devices. If any of you do this, make sure you delete the data from the iCloud service as well. You can turn off iCloud photos, and it will ask you if you want to download originals (if you do not have them downloaded already). Do this by going to preferences in the photo album app or in settings on an iPhone/iPad. If you do that then you can leave your photos in the album on that device and make a copy of them for backup elsewhere. Once you have a copy of your photos, you can go to iCloud.com and delete them from there in batches of 1000. Make sure to remove them from the Recently Deleted folder as well. I recommend making sure to move your iCloud Drive files from there to local folders and disabling the Desktop/Documents folder syncing. We all know before long they'll be scanning all of that as well. Also, I would recommend that you delete and disable iCloud device backup in settings on any iPhone/iPad. You can do local encrypted backups through Finder, which is MUCH safer. Get a nice fat storage drive to use with Time Machine, and it will keep all that data safe and recoverable. Fuck Apple after this. I wrote them a nice feedback letter.

True true. However, they don’t need any new data from me or my family going forward. Also cutting the subs, sending feedback, and not purchasing their hardware (which is where they make most of their revenue) will show them we’re pissed. And everyone is pissed. The number of people of all walks of life, including normies who are incredibly skeptical is amazing to me. I don’t really care that they know what I do, but I sure as hell am not intentionally giving them free reign to review my photos and data whenever they feel like it. It’s the principle of the matter.

Android by default is google-dominated. Most pedes get an android smartphone and then flash a custom ROM like LineageOS on it, effectively de-googling the hardware. It's really the only thing you can do at this point to claim any semblance of privacy.
A flip phone can provide plenty of data just by reporting to the cell phone towers alone, let alone everything a smartphone can do.
My phone is extremely locked down and connected to an ad-blocker at home and VPN when I'm out and about (except for when I use GPS/Google Maps). My wife's phone is not, and she is always closing popups from stupid mobile games that likely spy on people, and likely with their tacit consent because they lied and said they read the ToS.
It still freaks me out when it tells me I went to a store or restaurant in another city or state 5 years ago when I'm on holiday and pull it up in Google Maps, even though I did absolutely nothing wrong. On the flip side, that information often brings back memories that would be harder to recall otherwise.
If it's only used for targeted advertising, it really doesn't affect me.

It's very possible to run Android on Wi-Fi only and eliminate 99% of the shenanigans by ensuring the Wi-Fi connection itself is passing traffic through an ad-blocker/firewall on your home network. You can even block Google services completely until you specifically allow them if you know what you're doing.

There's no way to know for sure, but it's certainly possible.
Just make sure no new photos get marked for iCloud sync. Just disable it completely. iCloud is the least secure and private thing about using an Apple device.
