I'd heard a couple of decades ago about docs moving to smaller towns and setting up cash businesses - cutting ties with the entire industry and really helping people.
Now add to that the fact that unions have trapped the police in a similar box. If you step out of line as a police officer or you quit because you disagree with improper orders guess what... that sweet sweet pension your union got you is tossed down the drain. The entire structure is setup to trap police into being absolutely controlled from the top down. If the bad guys control the mayor and/or police chief they have absolute control with very real consequences to anyone that steps out of line.

We have a doctor like that in our town and he was great during the when first year of the "virus" bit he's offering the shots too so I'm very upset about that, although thankfully most of his patients would never take them.
