They use gas powered tools for table saws, drill presses, shapers, and other equipment. Yet, I don't know if a chain saw is permitted. It's kind of a strange deal. Motor cars are forbidden to drive or own. An outsider can drive an Amish passenger to his destination though. An Amish member can also take a bus to their destination. Their belief has to do with restrictions on electrical properties. One can argue that a gas powered table saw uses an electrical charge, and they are correct. I don'y know how this works. I just know the Amish model against government, government education system, and government health system is a great model for all of us to follow.
What the "rules" are differs by church district and is agreed to annually in the Ordnung church service. So some use all gas powered tools others use none, some use some and not others.
So there's not a "federal", one world government for the Amish? Kind of like States' rights, only better. They get to make their own decisions... Sounds like heaven on earth to me.
Far from it. While I truly love living in an Amish community, the rules are sometimes down right ridiculous. They have no idea why any of the rules exist and each district can be totally different. Districts are typically just a certain neighborhood, bounded by street addresses and the number of families in said neighborhood. They split when there are too many games to do church in each other's homes. Then elect new ministers, deacons and eventually a new bishop who makes the new rules.
It's sometimes very oppressive and people will move out/into districts due to rules. It's typically more work based salvation, although around us there are several truly converted ministers and bishops who do steer their congregants biblically, this however, isn't really normative (we have lived in two Amish communities and visited many).
Our community is big into solar and wind power to run their generators so they have electric. We even have Amish electricians that wire houses for us English, as they call us. Many have switched to LED lights that they run off batteries charged by their generators.
Sadly, most are not really converted. Most trust in their church membership as their hope for salvation. They do follow Christian principles and most try to live right by the Bible, but they also have a very poor understanding of Scripture as a whole. You will be excommunicated for having a Bible study in most Old order Amish churches.
Nope. Their community serves as a societal control group. Proof that some neurological differences are genetic or happen in-utero, but a majority are caused by the shit we’re told to inject our kids with.
Good story from an actual real journalist.
They also don't eat garbage seed oils that dominate processed 'food'.
They eat healthy saturated fat. Meat and butter. Almost no PUFA.
They have an obesity rate of about 4%, about one tenth of the rest of the USA.
Metabolically healthy people are at miniscule risk.
This reminds me of a tweet/meme that was going around last year where a reporter asked an Amish man why they weren't afraid of covid and why they weren't wearing masks and getting vaxxed and why none of them were sick. He simply replied, "we don't watch TV." lol
The Amish cannot be allowed to exist by the current government. They provide us a control group against the propaganda machine’s bullshit.
◾️
In a collapse, people like the Amish hold valuable lost knowledge of how to work the land, store food, and survive in very primitive agricultural settings. They don’t rely on hand outs or government. They are together and not divided as a community or families.
◾️
I’m expecting them to be targeted as terror-ests, religious extremists, etc. and attacked or persecuted. Maybe FF sandy hooked. God protect your children.
My parents and I are members of a Eastern European church. We also take the wine from the same cup or glass. During spring I remember seeing an interview with a man in his 50s. The reporter asked him if he would take the vaccine. The man answered and said that he was not afraid of the virus and that God Almighty already protected him from the virus. People in Eastern Europe was already huge sceptics to vaccines before Covid-19. Bad history wih communism/socialism, nationalsocialism and islam/Vatican did put their mark on peoples perception on vaccines.
Sounds like an American..
In other words, they don't like ...
Notice a pattern?
This is the way.

Thanks. I think I recall this now. The Mennonites are little different than the Amish, but they're not nearly as bad as the Termites.
Very community dependent

Thanks, so its sounds like its a more loose community than I knew.

I also just realized I might be Amish

Cheers
It's easy, they don't have TV, so they don't get know that it is supposed to be dangerous.
They know it’s all a lie.
I've not seen many fat Amish, to be fair.
No TVs = able to think
Living FREE from oppression is the bottom line .
Me thinks the Ivrrmecton flows with all the hossies
The Amish are Christians; correct?
Very much so, yes.

The Amish don't get vaccines and ironically have almost no autistic children. Coincidence?
Nope. Their community serves as a societal control group. Proof that some neurological differences are genetic or happen in-utero, but a majority are caused by the shit we’re told to inject our kids with.

Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them. hmmm sounds familiar

Ah, beat me to it!
I live close to the Amish and actually eating some of the honey they harvested right now combs and all. Very tasty!
Lucky you. Fresh honey is the best.
Just a 40 minute drive to Millersburg Ohio takes me into Amish country.
I identify as Amish, am I exempt from the Jab?
They ignore n it like wr all should have.
How dare they defy the definition of herd immunity defined by Wikipedia?!
