They're trying to force a mistrial as a pretext for deploying the BLM/Antifa brownshirts.
I think the defense is giving the judge a way out that limits the threat to the jury. If he gives Kyle a mistrial with prejudice then all of the threats etc will fall only on the lawyers and the judge. Can't really blame the jury. Even the lunatics on the left won't go after them if they never had the chance to give a verdict.
Everyone knows Kyle is going free and the lunatics are going to try to burn loot and murder the whole town for another week. This is just a way to control who they target individually. Fewer people to protect means they get better protection.

I prefer for the content of what is being presented be disproved with alternate facts on the subject. I choose to discern for myself the truth of a statement without polluting with bias about who said it. Discernment.
Believing: confidence and trust in information received to the end it is acted upon. It also implies a trust in the source.
Sources are everything. Listening in spite of who you know the source is MD how much credibility that you assign is one thing. Listening and validating a source afterwards, not very critical. You can know a source and still evaluate info. The problem is discounting it automatically because of the source. Sometimes truth comes from unlikely places. every piece of info needs the source validated, and it should never be discounted without checking just because someone was wrong before.

My tendency nowadays is to already know whether HRC statement contains TRUTH or lies based upon the research I have already done. I would be able to clearly articulate what might be motivating the comment, which would be far more useful information, imho.

It is possible for a court to rule retrial is not double jeopardy, but you're right. This gives an out AND points the finger at all the prosecution fraud going on. If they aren't putting the felon that attacked Rittenhouse on trial, why are they putting his victim on trial? Malicious prosecution, from day 1, with additional fraud exposed by the judge himself.

Its far more likely that the mob would blame the judge as its his decision, but if the jury says not guilty then the judge and all 18 jurors would be blamed. Thus its easier to just protect the judge and his family. They would be in danger either way.
Basically a mistrial with prejudice(meaning Kyle can't be tried a 2nd time) shields the jury from the wrath of the mob. The judge and both sets of lawyers are going to face some level of threat no matter what the outcome is.

So the heat would be off the jurors, however there will be riots and Kyle will still have crazy brainwashed people going after him. The narrative will be "white privilege" and "he got away with murder". I'd rather have them find him not guilty and have his name cleared.

The entire legal system in this country needs to be 100% revamped including how jury selection, and sequestering is done.

This whole thing may be a part of a demoralization move. The prosecution is comically incompetent, should be a clear cut case, but watch the jury come back guilty.

No the defense did not show the jury the high definition video until closing arguments this is the video the judge said during trial that was too blurry he would let the jury decide because only the low definition video was presented during trial evidence. They held the HD version until closing arguments so defense could not have a chance to defend kyle
