The little movie theater downtown too. We stopped in Asheville Saturday night on our way home from Gatlinburg, expecting to spend the night and hit the antique stores the next day. Saw all the mask notices and were disappointed. Then decided maybe we'd go to a movie but... you needed proof of vaxx.
I'm in the eastern part of NC, and it's so much better here. I haven't worn a mask yet. I'm going to see a doctor next month, and they don't wear masks or require them. Only two businesses were assholes about the masks early on, Wendy's and Family Dollar. I will never darken their doors again. The Wendy's seems to have lost most of their business, and they have now decided to shut down entirely and remodel the place. Perhaps the owners will lose the rest of their money.

I was at green man last year with a large group, and we weren't allowed to stand around a table. The staff came running up to us yelling and said they had governors orders. These people have no idea what is going on.
Asheville is the major deep blue and insane place in western NC. Go in any direction from there and things get better rapidly. I am partial to northwestern NC. Mainly for the reason that people just let each other be.
All day today a line in a song keeps playing in my head. ( what a long strange trip it has been ). Seems I need to stop and ask myself if I have totally lost my mind ? Has 4 yrs of working as a plumber while getting only 4 hrs sleep every night, then falling off a roof & breaking my back 14 months ago then having a stroke last May made me insane ? Is all this shit really happening ? Ok I vented, now I am good for a while longer.
