Yep all these victimless "crimes" need to be done away with. It's just a scam for the prison system. Also all gun laws are unconstitutional and need to be repealed across the country.
I don't mind paying the taxes I do on INCOME, but when you tax literally EVERYTHING else except for certain food items, that's when I have a problem
Still think they're generally too high across the board. I agree with what Sleepy Doctor said on the campaign trail. 8 percent flat income tax and then work on getting rid of other taxes that punish the average American worker for attempting to support themselves
We have the Income tax, and then a bunch of sub-income taxes like the sales tax, property tax, wheel tax, etc etc. Makes me insane how much my income AFTER the income tax is continually taxed more
And we should start with the Personal Income Tax! Jefferson was right:
A wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned.
Income and Property Tax both are the most immoral and disgusting things ever. Imagine actually thinking you have the right to take 1/3 to 1/2 of a mans labor and then also tell him that if he doesn’t pay another huge chunk of his labor over to the state that he will lose “his” land, therefore he never truly owns land. It’s wickedness if you ask me.
The House and Senate often don't write the laws, either. Thomas Massie (Representative) and Rand Paul, MD (Senator) are two that try to write laws short, sweet, (at least if you love liberty!) and to the point. The rarity of this is why Downsize DC exists. (and no, I have no ownership in the site, though I admit to donating when I can. ;)
The three main bills Downsize DC is trying to pass are the One Subject at a Time Act, The Read the Bills Act and the Write the Laws Act, which you can read about here:
Said the same thing to our state legislative team. OP this is a very misunderstood thought. Most think more is better. Thanks to DJT thousands of rules were eliminated.
I’m not as educated as I’d like to be on the limits of executive orders, but I largely agree.
I’d really like to see the pardon power of the President go away, or at least be delegated in a way that doesn’t give a single man the ability to countermand the justice system. Nobody should have the power to do that and also get to say they support unbiased justice.
and largess they want to eliminate
We should start asking these questions as a standard.
Great work, love it.
Abolish: Federal Reserve Act US Code IRS Code Patriot Act NDAA Obamacare
Only one I can think of I’d bring back is Glass Steagall

The current concept of "lawmakers" is problematic... I hope to see Tenders of the Law take over in the future.
Can I suggest another path? PROPER CONSISTENT ENFORCEMENT OF LAWS. Oh, and if we're not going to enforce them, REPEAL them like you want.
Cut the federal government budget by 50% and let them sort it out.
I say we should all be paying 75% less in state and federal taxes. All the rest of it is graft.

Ten percent was good enough for God, who is it that thinks they are owed more than God Almighty???
All taxation is theft.

Amen! Been saying this for years!
Should not be able to pass, new laws without repealing 2 old ones first.
Get rid of at least 75% of the federal government...
Yes. It bothers me when representatives are measured on how many bills they sponsor and pass. It's antithetical to liberty.
That depends. Are they using the laws to repeal bad laws, or are they enslaving us more?
Or enforce those already on the books instead of duplicating, replicating, or multiplying...
Making laws and then selectively enforcing them is Tyranny. The executive branch and DOJ should be investigated and impeached.

This Pepe, at the beginning, was once an extremely rare Pepe. But they are becoming more common now, and their numbers only continue to grow.
BINGO!
But, wait, that would be a Constitutional Republic! Anything but that!
Said the same thing to our state legislative team. OP this is a very misunderstood thought. Most think more is better. Thanks to DJT thousands of rules were eliminated.
And that they MUST obey the Supreme Law of our land, no ifs, ands, or buts. No excuses whatsoever.
First we need to stop Executive orders. We are letting one man have too much power and that is exactly what our founding fathers did not want.
I’m not as educated as I’d like to be on the limits of executive orders, but I largely agree.

You must love Biden then. He’ repealed and undone a lot that Trump did!
I know you don’t like Biden, but it’s, unfortunately, true.
You want more laws? awesome. I hear the DNCCP writes so many that you have to pass them just to see what's in em.
YOU love biden!!!
I tend to see this: the greater the number of laws, the greater the tyranny.
Jeffersonian Republicans are the only candidates we should be electing...
I believe the Dutch government has that included in their parliamentary laws, that for every new law they have to eliminate an old law.
