They must be throttling the signup on purpose.
It’s just poor planning and execution. In 2022, launching a social media site does not need to be throttled, unless you launch prematurely.
I just don't buy that. We're in a war where the white hats have huge amounts of control, we've got predictive q drops, multi year sting operations, things which have been planned meticulously by military intelligence, and you think that they would launch the most important media site in history prematurely?
No, it's something else, something to do with either user anticipation, event timing, market timing, or goading the opposition into some kind of underestimation.
I don't think the wait time is screening or tech issues or interference by anyone, I think it is strategic.
IMO Truth social is a military intelligence operation.

They’re controlling the influx in the beginning and watching hack attempts, throttle attempts, etc. Much easier with a few (mostly higher target) individuals. They take those vulnerabilities and correct them now. So that when millions actually join, there will be far fewer issues. They also might be waiting for a huge (preplanned) event happening. To maximize the Truth coming out. And impact of people wanting to dock tot he platform for truth.

There’s a book about new tech companies called, “The Dip”. Basically, over 90% of tech companies fail, and it has nothing to do with funding. It has to do with innovation, and the developer’s assumption that “we have the next brilliant idea, so surely it will do well.”

IMO you have taken Truth social out of context. I think the context is that it is designed to scoop up all the members of Twitter, Fb, etc when they realise that they have been lied to, censored and manipulated by the cabal.
If this is the case then Truth social's advantage is strategic and not technical.

Yes, the normies haven't migrated from twitter and youtube, but I believe they haven't been sufficiently shocked yet. Perhaps when they grok how they poisoned themselves with the vax because the MSM and the socials withheld info, then they might leave. It might not be the vax, but something of that magnitude.

I just did the update and then went to the site. Before it just had one alert saying I could receive messages. Now it has an alert that I am sms verified.
I wonder if using a vpn is an issue?
That also happened to me - when I clicked the link they sent in email. But when I went to the app I was in. Just has to set up my user name.
The most important thing to do here is once you have begun and you are in the waiting stage, you must go through the App Store as it has been upgraded a few times. If you open through the App Store it will get you further along. I did this and was in the next morning, have suggested to a few who have responded saying it got them in. Just a suggestion!

It appears our queue number never changes. You just get notified that you are approved. We assume the numbers we get are sequential— but maybe not. Maybe it’s more of a lottery?

I signed up on Feb 21st. My number is 103,665. And I got nothing! Still waiting! and my account has been verified and I even have followers according to my notifications. My friend who signed up the next day after I told her to got in a couple days ago. THE NUMBERS MEAN NOTHING and the order means nothing!!!!
I’m getting the feeling these numbers are not sequential. Maybe they are a random number - like a confirmation number when you pay a bill. I hope they get more transparent about how they are running things.

Someone posted your place in queue isn't necessarily placed in order of when you signed up. That sounds very strange to me. Like why would you randomly get dumped further back in line than some other person who signed up after you?
From the comments, I am guessing the numbers do not correspond to the order of approval. I wonder if it is random.

That happened to me. So I went to the app and discovered I was in. The app asked me a few questions to set up my user name and profile.
