I spoke to a firefighter a couple of years ago in the UK We have quite good electrical regulations and most houses are brick. House fires are rare these days in the UK.
When my EV caught fire a few years ago it was outside, It would have burned a house down if it was garaged.
I just wonder how much does it cost to completely charge a dead EV, The strain it is going to put on the Power Plant in your neck of the woods, especially in the summer when the power consumpotion is higher, and 90% of every home has one, hmmmmm?
Now wouldn't that be a conspiracy if Musk was found to own stock in the insurance companies who will be requirring all EV owners to pay extra for battery fire insurance...
And they run out of electricity all the time in inconvenient places and take hours and hours to recharge. They are still primitive. We cannot ditch combustion engines yet.
Wait until this happens and a whole city block gets torched!
I see it now, the new crime of the future will be to reverse the polarity in the charging system in an electric vehicle your enemy ownes, might as well take his family out while they sleep and the whole neighborhood right? Why'd you kill them? Cuz they was home....
The News: While there may be some "rare" side effects. EVs are really "safe and effective."
Never thought about a electric vehicle. I have two Audis, A6 super fueled, A4 diesel fueled. They last ages, and they never burn like hell.
These batteries are unsafe, like, wait, um, ah: the vaccines. One agenda to rule them all.
Would love to have our A6 again!
Great on mountain roads.
Talk about Hotrods.
It Melted it!
And the van did a number on its neighbor.
Most electric car owners are installing charging stations inside their garages.
This should get interesting. How many future house fires will the car makers be liable for?

I heard California is already planning on limiting EV charging during the coming (summer) months
Standard or optional feature?
Depends on the manufacturer you choose....
It's a feature, not a defect.
That checkbox option is reserved for the dealer you either pissed off or pissed on!
I used to be an EV enthusiast.
This actually happened to one of my converted EVs, Since It was a lead acid battery and a hydrogen fire, it wasn't quite that spectacular.
Electric cars used to have an issue with heaters. It seems they have fixed that now!
LMAO!

Tyco race track cars + cats = ❤😁
HOLY COW!

reversing the polarity won't work, there will be safegaurds. Puncturing the battery when charging is where it's at.
