And job loss and just being out in public without a mask (If you live in a communist state, you were ready for battle & confrontation just entering a place without a mask)
I had the same question. One of my best friends has horrible anxiety even when I, her best friend, bring up certain subjects. I wonder if there is any recourse for you guys with the masking crap.
Some managers, are just sadists. Some managers, seem to feel that they have the ability, because they are a manager; to subject their employees to whatever they want to do, out of some sense of superiority.
I have witnessed it, and if I were in that jury, the reward would be exponentially higher. Why?
Because, this manager's Director knew of his sadistic, bootlicker's tendencies; yet opted to do nothing about it. Now the CEO is going to have to cut a check for $450K, and is going to install a Corrective Action Plan, so this crap never happens again.
The CEO now knows exactly who caused this problem, and who tolerated it. He now knows that a precedence has been set. If I were the CEO, there would be one meeting, at 8am with these individuals, HR and security and that meeting would be over within 10 minutes with 2 immediate terminations, and security escort off the property - so EVERY EMPLOYEE could witness it.
Being humiliated in public, is not a part of the job description. Employees are hired to perform a task. As a manager, you may ask them if they would like a Birthday, Anniversary, Awards or Retirement Party; that is reasonable. But if the employee says "no"; that is the end of the matter. The employee owes you NO EXPLANATION whatsoever. Drop it, and move on.
I’ve not read the article and I’m not going to, but I hope there is more to it than meets the eye. Like maybe, a video of his coworkers planning to scare him under the guise of a surprise party.
Grown adults at work celebrating birthdays like a bunch of children. Up until 1900 birthdays were only celebrated for children and up to the age of puberty, 13 years old. But old greedy Hallmark Cards thought why not get everyone to celebrate birthdays for every age. They would be able to sell millions more birthdays cards. Guilt and virtue signalling ensued. It was a smart marketing ploy and the masses fell for it. Suckers!
People wearing masks in public have always given me anxiety. I wonder if there is some sort of recourse for that? Ask a vet how they feel about face coverings....
When I was younger, we were on vacation at the World Golf Hall of Fame in FL and we ate at Caddyshack which is Bill Murray’s restaurant. At the time, they made you stand on a chair and the staff would chant happy birthday and sing. So I got to do that. I still remember it. Chubby boy forced to stand up, elevated on a chair, worried his shirt wasn’t covering his belly, worried he’d fall off the chair and everyone gawking. I wanted to die and refused to ever let another birthday meal at any restaurant be ruined by letting staff know. So we went back this year and I told them about the experience and they don’t do it anymore. Lol. Thank God. And also, I’m thinner now. Lol.
When I was about 5 years old the asshole Disney employees in the mascot costumes like Donald Duck or whatever at DisneyWorld pulled my hair because they thought it was funny. My hair was in braids and they yanked on it so hard I cried. In hindsight they were probably pedophiles and we should have sued for millions. But this was in the 80s.
Well then, imagine the lawsuits coming from forced vaccination anxiety…..

cant wait....let it rain
I have bad anxiety. Wonder if I can get paid over the anxiety caused by the unconstitutional forced masking.

Most likely not.
I wonder if the lawsuit was a surprise...
Then start a new lawsuit, he's found an infinite money glitch
filling out and filing my tax forms give me huge anxiety. <holds hand out for $>
He specifically requested they not throw a party and the sadists did it anyway. I've known people like this. I'm glad he won.
Only in America.

That’s horrible!
i hate birthday parties too, especially if they are my own.
