Ask if they think the 40 billion for Ukraine is covering up the crimes of the Biden, Pelosi, and Kerry families.

Normies who have been programmed by the legacy media don't think. Everything is Trump's fault. The process you suggest is unworkable in this case. Even during the worst of the crisis this summer, when they are starving and eating insect meal, they will still blame it on Trump. The only way to get them to stop and think is blanket coverage of their trusted media darlings admitting that they lied and manipulated the truth. Along with an apology to Trump for doing it. Short of that, I really see no way of breaking the conditioning. Maybe after the Durham trials, when actual arrests are made, something might snap. But asking a question right now is futile in my opinion.

One of the most effective strategies I've used is honestly to shit talk republicans, some of the most well engrained conditioning is the idea of Washington team sports, blows their mind to hear a conservative talk shit about the GOP.
That and ask questions, but don't just ask leading questions they'll catch on, ask questions you legitimately want the answer to and it's like taking a sledgehammer to the propaganda foundations of their brainwashing.

I recommend just sharing info/links without your own commentary. Trust them to think for themselves and come to rational conclusions once they start consuming good information. Most people are misled, not zealots. They have a long history of trust in media authority.
Maybe you could try not talking about current events, because people have already made up their minds, they refuse to change. Instead tell them to look up the Milgram experiment where 60% of the participants were willing to shock someone to death as long as they thought an expert was giving the "go ahead". Also have them look up the asch experiment. The experiment tested how people would give knowingly wrong answers in order to conform to the masses. Just explain to them the way brainwashing works.
Don't give your own theories on why there is a formula shortage, rather don't believe their theories. Make them the "conspiracy theorist". For example: I don't know exactly what is going on, but I sure as heck don't believe that lie the MSM just told.
Eventually when you ridicule every single thing they believe, they will search for the truth. A simple statement like "really....you believe that"? Can go a long way.

Maybe ask them what could have been done differently to avoid the baby formula shortage? (Do they even know about it - about how desperate parents are and that some babies have actually had to be hospitalized for lack of their specific formula?) That topic is serious, but at the same time can be viewed as 'non-political.' If they say they don't know, point out how many manufacturers are making it. Why so few? And if the FDA has to close one down, what would be the remedy for the obvious, resultant shortage? Just get them to start picking things apart and actually THINKING. That's all you can do. Plant the seeds and let them germinate in their minds. Good luck and good for you for trying to open eyes. Please don't get discouraged. You really never know who will be affected by your comments. This almost always results in hostility. As soon as they realise they've made no sense, they get mad... and you're still the idiot according to them.
These people's beliefs are crumbling in real-time. They will naturally get defensive and emotional. The trick is not to argue with them. They will leave the conversation feeling like an idiot and look for answers so it doesn't happen again.
Good in theory but in actual practice is usually achieves more of the same. I speak from experience... 25 years of trying to show the same circle of people resulting in 98% of them now no longer speaking to me with 1% who woke up and another 1% that just "tolerate" my "insanity".
I said to ask them questions not to show them evidence. I have been doing this for 20 years as well. I have lost friends and family too. I am finally starting to get them back because I am not so in their face. Now some of them actually send me stuff that they find.
That's exactly what I do, and as soon as I ask them something that contradicts their programming, they short circuit and accuse me of trying to twist their thinking. I'm telling you, this doesn't work for everyone, and in fact hardly works for anyone who isn't already awake and with it. The rest are lost forever.
