Look, I have sympathy for those that abhor abortion. It's a gross practice. However you cannot ignore the flip side of the coin. Not every kid who gets born is going to be an upstanding member of society. It's likely going to be the opposite.
There's a lot of poverty in Oklahoma. Native American tribes are still pretty poor, white trash, Inner City ghetto Blacks, Meth heads, Druggies, etc. Oklahoma should have restricted abortion to a certain trimester but not ban it entirely.
People who are anti-abortion will NOT be covering these kids welfare out of their own pocket. This is the elephant in the room. They expect every taxpayer to cover it. As it stands right now tax dollars of mine will go to them. Arguing that churches and charities will cover is not good enough. Why should my tax dollars going to Moesha with 7 kids. I have no say with how many baby daddies she gets with.
I'd rather my tax dollars it be spent on scientific research, space colonization, green technology, smart manufacturing, things to improve society.
