I am a woman and I agree. The majority of my bosses have been women and most were horrible. Many lacked real leadership, felt threatened by other women’s skills, aggressively micromanaged, and created an atmosphere of toxic competition.
My current boss is a 72 year old man. Sharp as a whip. He cares about results. We don’t always agree but he trusts my judgment and allows me to work without constantly breathing down my neck.
Was a nurse for 10 years. One female admin begged me to stay on as permanent. She said we need more men in this field. The work gets done faster with less drama. Women legit could not keep there motions out of the field. I totally get you.
One nurse would walk in for her morning shift to relive me from overnight and I’m watching her talk about her damn weekend instead of reliving me.
Also, men say no. We will confront these doctors more often than not. Women don’t. Many a time female nurses would beg for the male nurses to be at certain meetings because we push back against management.
