The genocide is real - ask any undertaker.
This Undertaker?
The Undertaker threw Mankind off hell in a cell.
That Undertaker?
I have had discussions with people in my area regarding where all the workers are. (I believe this has had some discussion on this board) The workers left various service jobs during covid and received unemployment or other means of government support, but that has ended, yet, they haven't gone back to work. We wonder where they are getting their money now? But that is assuming they are still alive! What if there has been such a significant increase in the death rate in the U.S. that it is actually affecting the employee pool? I plotted the number of obituary pages per time for my local newspaper, back to Dec 2019 (they cut off the pages prior to about mid Dec 2019), and found that the trend has been about the same this year, as during the covid years, with one six month period in 2020 showing a higher rate. I hope someone can do a similar analysis for their local online newspaper. Granted, the pages of obituaries aren't an exact match to the number of deaths, since some obituaries are many paragraphs, and others are almost nothing, but it should all average out, unless there has been a change in the amount people submit.
keep in mind due to the moving population bubble (baby boomers) there are about 11,500 people a day, that is 24/7 365 leaving the work force....sad part this is the experienced people.....the economy was built to accommodate this amount of people ...what is going to happen at the bottom of the hill?? we are just beyond the peak now....whos going to be left to buy all these houses or cars or anything else....
I'm mainly referring to the support staff positions (supporting the business owner); waiters/waitresses, cooks, stock people, warehouse workers, etc. Most of the "help wanted" targets. Those people were barely getting by before covid, and now, if they aren't working, where are they and what are they doing? If alive.
In my area they can't get by on what those jobs are paying. Rent for a one bedroom is $1200-$1500 a month around here. I think some are living with relatives rather than bust their butts for no payoff. I know a lot that are working remote rather then doing time clock jobs. I think in my area, blue collar petite have been priced out of the market. High school kids can only work after school, unless they're homeschooled like my kids. ☺️ Contrary wise, my comp sci graduate cannot find a job and she of her classmates have given up to get their CDL. I know that Ed Dowd said they're is 61,000 in excess deaths among working age people. My 18 year old just took over a job from a 22 year that died of a massive heart attack on the job.😥 So yeah, that's going to make some sort of impact. Those are my observations.
I'd like to know if there is an increase in disability payments.
Obits are voluntary for hard numbers you need to study death certificates.
If that is indeed CUMULATIVE, then it doesn't show what you think it shows. It's a fairly straight line. If there were increased numbers of dying, then a cumulative line would arc upwards. Please reconcile.
What this seems to show, since the general line has not changed, is that the rate of death (as proxied by obituary pages) has remained fairly constant since the start of 2020. Since covid is largely gone, why would the rate seem to be approximately the same this year?
Good question. Perhaps a more telling indicator would be actuarial tables from various life insurance agencies. They HAVE to get it right, or they go broke. I wouldn't know how to get hold of such things, as I'm sure they treat their own actuarial tables as corporate secrets.
"cumulative"
This says cumulative, wouldn’t that mean you keep adding them up so the graph would have to be this way regardless of any change in death rate up or down?
Cumulative plots, if the rate of increase or decrease remains the same, plot as straight lines. This data suggests that in 2022, the same rate of death has been occurring as in 2020 and 2021; the years where covid was causing excess deaths, along with suicides, drug overdoses, etc. The question is, why does it seem that the rate is still occurring, since covid is largely defeated/passed as a "deadly" infection?
A constant cumulative rate of change (increase or decrease), results in a straight line. This data suggests the straight line associated with the covid years (2020 and 2021) is about the same this year. We know the death rate during covid was up (both from covid and suicides, etc.) but why does it still seem to be at the same level?
Do we know Covid caused a significant uptick in deaths? I don't think Covid caused a drastic change in the overall death rate, hence the lack of significant change in the slope of your data. They simply swapped out the flu deaths for Covid. I would like to see this graph extended further into the past for comparison. I also think there might be a better way to illustrate the data. Perhaps take the derivative and drop the cumulative label so the rate of change is more apparent.
With more time, I could get the number of deaths listed each day, but that would take several hours. www.poughkeepsiejournal.com is available for anyone that would like to do a more detailed analysis. The data begins about mid Dec 2019, which is pretty odd. The reason the slope is about the same throughout the period of data is because other than a few weeks prior to covid starting, it is all covid or post-covid.
I just got off the phone with a local funeral home and was told (and I believe him based on further conversation) that there hasn't been a significant increase in funerals THIS year, compared to pre-covid years. He said the overdose deaths have definitely been up the past couple of years. We also discussed the issue of unavailability of workers, and he even said they can't get people to work there. I brought up the blood clotting issues of covid shots, and he seemed to indicate that he is noticing more deaths that could be due to that, but wasn't definitive on that.
Possible that dead, but you know u/PhDinNY - they may be not dead from the jab but "only" dead inside as unemployed.
You know, what would do the people who are unable to afford themselves to live in city like NY/lost their homes/etc ? They would move somewhere else maybe ?
Or maybe they are afraid that if they would go to work somewhere some idiot would like to force them to take the jab ?
Many people who lost everything in last 2 years may be now quite depressed, and really - severe depression may cause lack of activity, even activity about looking for job. Especially if former jobs were quite low paid.
I don't think it's from people moving away, because I hear of this happening all over the U.S. It would be great if someone would go to all the employers who are trying to hire, and get the info on former employees, and find out their status.
