You know what I am going to call bullshit on the wind thing. I live in San Antonio. This has been one of the windiest years I have experienced in my 12 years here. I recently drove back and forth from SA to the western states of AZ, CA, NV, UT, CO, & NM. It has been nothing but windy. And I mean gusty winds, hard to keep the car on the road type of gusts. So I would bet those bullshit ugly wind turbines that ruin our landscapes, kill birds, and suck for the environment don't work effectively.
Agreed, I’m in the hill country sitting on my porch right now and the trees are moving like crazy right now. We’ve lacked rain so far this year but definitely not wind.
From Central Tx to the Frio today the south wind was blowing pretty good in the road. Saw probably 6 of 8 wind turbine blades and posts going north on the interstate. That wind and rain from the north sure cooled things off from 104 to 73 now.
Would be fun to have a TX Great Awakening meet up group 😀
Howdy, neighbor! I agree!
This is so stupid. We have oil like a mofo in Texas. This cabal needs to fall soon. This is so sloppy and obvious that they are the central cause in all of these problems.
Can't wait for civilians to take matter into their own hands after the corrupt institutions failed to perform. I'm thinking it will come to that because the waiting is creating more damage to our country. Need a former spec ops team to get together and serve some justice to these treasonous satanists.
Wind turbines produce electricity within a VERY narrow window of wind speed that must be also be constant and steady.
Strong gusty wind won't do the trick.
Wind power is dumb. But it just gets more dumb the more you know about.
It's possible the wind is too strong and cutting off some of the turbines too.
Texas doesn't need wind, never did. This is a manufactured crisis.

Did anyone catch the funny typo from Reuters?

Nothing's stopping Ercot from firing up coal power plants to meet the excess demand.
The EPA forbid them from doing so during the ice storm debacle, but the recent Supreme Court decision in West Virginia vs. the EPA means they can get bent.
fuck that little bitch
Sorry ERCOT you compromised assholes lose again, we got rain today in the Dallas area around 1400hrs and the temperature is still below 90F at 1630hrs.
Look at ercot.com to see actual usage in real time. Note the wind power is bot even worth the effort.
Honestly, between the various grid regulators (keep in mind, that the majority of the people working there are at least P.Eng, and often with master's degrees in Electrical Engineering, in short, the exact people who "should know better").
That these people haven't been raising alarms about how close peak usage is getting to peak capacity for at least years already (ballpark 5-10 years) should almost come as a reflection of their ineptitude, or reflecting sabotage of the electrical grid.
When I was in school they told us that renewables weren't reliable enough to have as anything more of a priority than 'supplemental' power. As in, you have a base load, then you have the consistent increase in load throughout the day, and supplemental power is if those peaks get too close to the currently available capacity. Yet, here we are.
Short light rain in NW Houston: temperature down to 81. It’s been windy most of the day!
Dear Texas,
Have you considered moving your windmills to DC?
I don't think they work as well on hot air.
This was for Wednesday 7/13, which did get a little sketchy at peak loading. Wind didn’t blow out west where the majority of those faggy windmills are. Load curve forecast looked fine today, then many got rain and cooler temps. Wind and solar sucks. Nuclear is where it’s at. If the generation isn’t there, it isn’t there. If total grid capacity is 80,000MW and people need 81,000MW, you can’t just make it appear. Then you’re also trying to balance load and system frequency. It’s a delicate dance. The Obama era energy policies hurt more than many know.
Twice in one year... Perfect...so much for the "highly unusual" event line of the MSM.
Cool. Now let's put millions of electric cars on a grid that is already incapable of producing for what is already there.
Expose it all.
Maybe it's just because I'm in ne Texas, but considering how little wind we get in the summer (try working outside I that shit, it's miserable, lmao), windmills seem incredibly stupid here...
The old steam engine locomotives had steam powered air conditioners.
I want to make that work on solar power.
Pressure chamber painted matte black surrounded by reflectors aiming the sun at the pressure chamber( just make sure the chamber is able to take the higher pressure and the heat, lol. You don't wanna be near a pressure bomb when it goes off, lol)
Let it fall.
People aren't going to start taking things seriously until they start feeling the pain.
If the federal government (ala EPA) is putting unreasonable demands on ERCOT to support their "Green" initiatives, ERCOT should stop bending over backwards to meet them. They're just going to ratchet down tighter next year, and it's not going to stop until people get outraged and demand change. And that's not going to happen until they spend a few days baking in 80+ degree houses and sorting through hundreds of dollars in spoiled food.
This is exactly the thinking we need. If you comb through Q drops and are autistic enough... You are right on the money. I don't mean this in any negative way btw, just glad I've seen one other person on GAW with this thinking. So far I've only seen them on 8kun and zero irl.
