Don't confuse an education with intelligence. Two different things, in my experience.
Absolutely true. I’ve met plenty of PhD’s that couldn’t think their way out of a paper bag.
Degree meanings. A.S= A lot of Shot M.S.= More Shit PHD = Piled Higher and Deeper
I thought a PhD was post hole digger? I've had one of those for years now!
I got my BS degree
That’s Bullshit
It’s just a joke. Although, if a degree is not STEM, law or medicine...it may not be super valuable.
I don't consider myself particularly intelligent beyond the average dude, but I'm pretty sure my IQ is higher than some of our Supreme Court Justices. That depresses me.
If your iQ is only 100 you are already smarter than three of them. They still haven't figured out what their job is.
Given that the Ketanji Jackson doesn't even know what a woman is, you're absolutely right.
See my post below ...
It's true, there are some highly intelligent truck drivers, plumbers, etc., and there are some really stupid doctors.
All the ones pushing the vaccine. Boy, that's a bunch.
A wise man once said "the ability to speak does not make you intelligent". Guess who said that kek
Weesa goin undawater now okeeday??
Brock Lesnar
Lol did he say that? Not the person I was quoting tho kek. Try again!
Wasn't this from one of the Star Wars movies? The new ones I think? No clue who said it.
Liam Neeson as Qui-Gon Jinn.
Correct! Qui Gon jinn said it kek. Seriously tho.... Lots of wisdom in that statement
yea
You are wrong. But also correct. Chuck Norris can take credit for anything and everyone lets him, otherwise he throws you into the sun
….and don’t confuse intelligence with wisdom.
This exactly, some of the best high priced over achieving schooled attorneys I have worked with, were absolutely dumb ... no common sense.
Yep, amazing how the flu numbers have just evaporated into thin air these last two years.. 🤔🤨
Watch out!! The trolls will find this comment and tell you all about how covid is way worst than the flu and they got sick as hell and almost died and blah blah blah.
Uh oh! My commy indoctrination button must be broken! 😜😆
It's worse than that. Everyone was masked with the exception of the host panel and the 'mission update informers' that were in front of the camera.
You would think all those engineers (and the like) would put two and two together that those masks do nothing or that COVID isn't transmissible when you're in front of a camera (lmao). Who knew?
Just brainwashing. Yup
He's basically as good at this as James Woods and Donald Trump.
Which is saying a freaking BOATLOAD.
Hate to say it, but the tweet is fake -- he never said this.
https://twitter.com/rinor_sherifi/status/1429698140748361729
OK but my remark is still true that he's basically as good at this as James Woods and Donald Trump.
Heh. Harvard is a joke. They used to be very selective about their admissions. It's not even a prestigious school on the world stage anymore.
Then why would Musk hire people who went there?
I would assume it's because their credentials do more than just look good on paper.
Oh, I love his reply! I worked for an elementary school, in the office. I cannot tell you how many times I was “reminded” that teachers were “smarter” because they had degrees.......Book smart does not make you life smart!
C students run the world
Reminds me of the old question - Who is more important, a brain surgeon or a garbage collector?
(And I always laughed at which of the two commonly touted their "importance".)
In reality, both are equal.
If university actually is teaching something like that (I would argue it's a trade), then go with blessings. It's when they're learning underwater basket weaving type of things that they need to stahp!
Correct. Elon probably doesn’t hire morons
Sanitation engineer!
Both are important just that a neurosurgeon could be a garbage collector quite easily. Can’t say the same the other way around.
In which scenario would your everyday life be more difficult:
There are no neurosurgeons.
There are no garbage collectors.
Depends on if my everyday life involved a neurological condition. No one is saying the garbage collector isn’t important. And of course most everyone needs the garbage man more on a day to day basis. But if push came to shove and we needed to get trash out of the way I’m sure the community would pull together and get something going.
Are you saying we don’t need neurosurgeons? My niece had seizures last year from a huge tumor that just showed up and if it weren’t for her amazing neurosurgeon, she’d be dead now.
It’s not a zero sum game.
That is not what I'm saying, don;t attempt to strawman. The average person will never need a neurosurgeon, ever, despite your anecdotes.
Every average sized city and larger would have the disease problems of Middle Age cities without garbagemen, inside of a month, affecting well over a hundered million people.
Good luck getting everyone together to take care of the garbage problem, that's called...hiring garbagemen. No one is going to volunteer, see every garbagemen strike, ever. It just piles up in huge stiking masses.
Don’t give a shit. Why are you even arguing about this dumb ass shit. We have neurosurgeons and we have garbage collectors. You want to make one out to be a hero over another go right fucking ahead. Have a nice evening dumb ass
Thank you for admitting defeat. I accept your taking the L.
😂 what a loser. Here. Accept this 🤡
Haha, no they wouldn't. We'd work out an alternative way to deal with garbage long before things got "medieval"
Ivy League diplomas do not equal brains.
My employees didn't go to Harvard but they all went to college. I just went to work.
In my job, I take people who graduate with degrees in chemical engineering and teach them everything about their jobs. I have a high school education, and I don't do too shabby with income. When they find out what college I have( none btw), and I make more than they do, it pisses them off. They asked why I didn't go to college? My answer: didn't want to be an educated dumbass!
His family also owned an emerald mine, he didn't need to go to school.
True, you can go to Harvard, or you can inherit an emerald mine fortune
Elon is correct fir sure. I sometimes ask people when this topic of school/education comes up a couple or more questions. If James Garfield had not dropped out of school before the fourth grade, would he have been President and spoke 5 different languages? If Henry Ford had not dropped out of school before the fourth grade, would there have been a Ford Motor Company? I had a few more when necessary.
Don't confuse Elons Twitter with it actually being Elon running that account.................
Bout time someone else says it.
While we are at it; wisdom is knowing things. People with degrees are often wiser.
Intelligence is applying what you know. No uni degree teaches this. And so most experts know a ton of studd that they dont know how to use.
Degrees serve only as a reminder that the recipient dares not think without societal peer pressure aproving their thoughts.
Think outside the box.
This is so timely for me. I have my own graphic design business and I have two years toward a Fine Arts degree with emphasis in Marketing. Because of years and years of working a regular job and doing my side hustle to support me and my son, there was no time or money to continue my college degree. I loved college. Had a 4.0. I'm finally making almost enough to survive on and I think, did I make a mistake? Should I have finished that degree or are these decades of experience as valuable? It's nearly too late to make a difference now. Would I make enough money to be able to save up for a house by myself? These thoughts seesaw over this a lot. Still not sure, but I am a GREAT, reliable Graphic Artist with a good reputation.
Would that degree give you jobs you can’t get right now without the degree?
If I were younger, yes. Now, probably wouldn't hire me due to my age. But my design business is starting to finally grow. So, I think I just need to try and get more clients and grow my income that way.
Having worked at a major university for decades, papers on the wall are grossly overrated.
Well one thing is certain:
Someone got schooled.
laughs in small business
🐸❤👌
Degrees are for people with more dollars than sense.
Elon has a rocket as his picture, not his face. Whos account is this?
Most of those guys are Yalies.
"What if the world knew your harvesters, what if the world knew that it's stupid to go to Harvard (fuck)?"
So true. Probably the smartest person I know didn't want to bother with college because he believed it would 'slow him down.' He was right.
Tippy top fucking kek.
College was the biggest waste of time in my life. I didn't learn shit, and went into a debt for a job that will never allow me to earn enough to pay it back. I tell all my students to skip the whole college trap.
At some point these schools need to be completely defunded of all funding. Redistribute all of that money back to the people. You know, it's good for everyone!
lol Matthew Clark is stupid for believing that.
School as in college is as useful as one ply toilet paper ! In debt ( by design) learn a trade !
dropped out at 15. make 6 figures+. work 3 hours a day from home with weekends off. phuck school. thanks internet self education.
