So you don't think that's a top coat / over coat? What else would it be? What jacket goes mid-length down your leg? I'd say the white is a scarf, possibly / probably covering his tie.
The real question here is: why is the general wearing an overcoat? Everyone else in both pictures is dressed similarly, so you can't say he's wearing an overcoat simply because it's colder.
Not at all, but so what? Everybody feels the cold differently. The point is, a general wouldn't (to my knowledge) wear his ribbons on his overcoat, so it is natural that they wouldn't be showing in the bottom photo. He may have been wearing them on his uniform underneath. Honestly, I can't believe how many stupid comments people here make about things that are so blatantly obvious.
It doesn't cancel out. LW was suggesting that the other people in the bottom picture were dressed differently, as if the general were 'overdressed.' That's not the case. But even if they were all wearing lighter clothes, it wouldn't matter because everybody is different and he might have felt the cold more. It's a stupid argument for you to make.
That being an overcoat, the bigger tell is that the gun salute wasnโt given at the normal place, it was at Arlington I believe, PLUS it was the salute for a foreign dignitary.
Touchy???... Why.... because I said I'm yet to be convinced and thanks for your permission...It makes no difference to me whether its been 'debunked'....I'M NOT CONVINCED...That's it...Touchy my arse....๐คฃ๐คฃ....And I've NEVER said I'm always right...Get over yourself man...
Ascots are authorized for flag officers for ceremonial purposes in cold weather. That's probably what we are looking at here. Not saying MIL isn't treating Xiden like a bitch, but don't think that's the case here. Now the 3 gun salute - different story.
Well, in the bottom picture he is wearing an overcoat. I wouldn't think a general would wear his ribbons on an overcoat.
To my untrained eye it looks pretty slim and form fitting for an overcoat. Also doesn't appear to be wearing a tie like top pic.

Storm coat. No ribbons.

Every other person in that photo is also wearing an overcoat.

The overcoat does NOT have ribbons. The rank is on the should boards. The uniform is under the overcoat. Its there. I assure you.
Sauce
No branch of service wears accoutrements of ANY KIND on the overcoat. They dont. Decorations are worn on Service COATS, and UNIFORMS. NOT OVERCOATS.
I served for 30 years at all echelon levels. I assure you, you have no clue what you are talking about.
Well it was a whopping 2 degrees colder on Biden's inauguration day so that fully explains it.
In the bottom pic, he's wearing an overcoat. No ribbons or rank insignia usually on overcoats except sleeves.

Trump...while everyone is looking right I will be looking left....
The military does NOT wear ribbon stacks on their overcoats!
Sure it's an overcoat.
But,
He has no tie and no undercoat.
splain that!
He's wearing a white scarf and white gloves as well, because it is cold.
I'm not military, but it still seems legit.

You wear a white scarf with the blue overcoat.

No. Itโs because those two werenโt worthy to be seen with that ribbon stack during such a prestigious event. Yet another sign.
The Military doesnโt just forget tradition, folks.
He's wearing an outer coat. Those don't display commendations.
Yes, exactly, this was debunked soon after pics came out.
I'm yet to be convinced.....
Well thanks for your permission....

The coat didn't cover where his tie should have been. He was improperly dressed, as if he were a fake military guy.

Ascot never occurred to me, as I associate them with rich assholes from the old days.
The protocol is extreme. 3rd US is the oldest active unit in the US MIL.
He's wearing an overcoat in the second picture. Ribbons don't go on overcoats.
'Zactly!!!
Real military, on that day and hour, would freeze to honor that moment.
I know someone in the military, and you donโt wear ribbons on outer coat.
Wearing masks, like bandits who just stole an election.
Looks like Kamala's wife is pregnant?
