Haven't watched the video, but I can provide an answer:

Conservatives, mainstream hacks as the ones in the thumbnail, are frauds. They will stream the milk, but when it comes to meat Conservatives like Steve Bannon and Ken Matthews, they will never go to those places they do because it threatens the status quo.

What's the status quo? Well... it's the pretend battlefield. It's a fucking game to these people and they won't speak against the status quo as long as the gravy keeps lining their pockets.

Now, you, reading this might identify as Conservative and have likely typed up a reply to declare me a shill or faggot or whatever and are likely thinking of some response about how I don't understand Conservatism. This has nothing to do with the definition. These clowns don't represent your values and they'll whisper all the sweet nothings you love to hear as long as you keep throwing money at them. They represent their corporate interests first and always and only. If you are serious about making change, stop taking sides, and stop being insecure about your shitty team. We don't need teams. We have guns and a universal respect for life and people to live their lives' freely how they choose. Now if you're in support of a theocracy, then by all means, continue to side with the rest of the clowns.

Point is, people need to stop supporting factions. This situation we are in is exactly what the Founding Fathers warned against. We don't need parties. We need people who put the Constitution First and aren't afraid to call out the bullshit and spoiler alert, those people aren't all going to be Conservative and/or Christian, but they are American and that is ALL that should matter.

This well-written post perfectly encapsulates my thoughts over the last couple years.

I used to identify as conservative, but began to realize a few things.

I didn’t check all the conservative - I differed on my opinions on same-sex partnerships, endless defense budgets for foreign wars, and propping up Wall Street.

And, something Rush Limbaugh used to say started to click with me — the whole idea that we are conservatives was itself a misnomer. Big, oppressive government run by elites has been the norm throughout history — There’s nothing more liberal or progressive than a government that is subservient to the people.

Then I realized, MOST conservatives, if you start talking to them with their guards down, check slightly different boxes from each other and from the party. That even liberals often check the same boxes we do.

But we all quickly fall completely into the party’s arguments when facing the other side. We start doing the party’s business for them, even though most of us don’t fully agree with either of them.

Once I realized that, I realized how staged most banter between politicians and media personalities felt.

Trump sealed the deal - he very much governed as neither a conservative nor a liberal. Not even as a “moderate” (whatever that is). He governed as a human being.

The labels are meaningless. They are meant to divide us, and I think it’s on us to take the labels away from them.

The labels are meaningless. They are meant to divide us, and I think it’s on us to take the labels away from them.

This is why I say I follow Jesus, but am not a Christian. I want nothing to do with the religion. And ironically enough, the teachings of Jesus go very much against a lot of the Conservative platform. A lot of Christians also don't follow Jesus, they follow Paul's interpretation of Jesus which has also contributed to the mess we're in and why the various churches are so divided. They're obsessed over doctrines and derived policy that has nothing to do with the bigger picture: loving your enemies, treating others the way you want to be treated and so forth. They place Jesus and Paul at the same level and in some instances it feels like they place Paul ABOVE Jesus the same way The Mormons do with Joseph Smith and the Muslims with Muhammad. Yet if you actually put Jesus first and ignore the rest, you start to realize it's a lot easier than people make it out to be and once you take "Do not judge least ye be Judged" t heart and couple that with murdering your desire to control people, and suddenly all the bullshit, all the insecurity all the crap starts to fall to pieces...

Of course this comes at a price. Those who cling to their labels, those who defend the integrity of their honorless factions will see you as their enemy, as many in this sub see me. My independence is a threat to their worldview. My audacity to question the status quo threatens their comfort bubbles. But you know what? I don't care. At least not beyond sharing this with you and everyone else publicly. Not being well liked didn't stop John Adams and without him there wouldn't be an America so why the fuck would I ever let ANYONE'S unfavorable opinion of me slow me down?

And yeah. The thing that got me to walk away from Conservatism was realizing that most Conservatives will support laws and regulations that agree with their religious zealotry regardless of Constitutionality. They also didn't seem bothered by the government taking the reigns when it came to marriage, so yeah they can all fuck off with their un-American attitudes too. Now I get, that like me most of you weren't alive when that happened, but you still fell for the same tricks over the gay marriage debacle. The correct answer was to abolish government marriage. Or change the word associated with the marriage license concept. But nope... like children, everyone picked a side and argued against freedom (both sides were guilty) instead of focusing on the cause. Sadly the same bullshit still happens and the talking clowns mentioned in the post are keeping Conservatives angry and in the camp... I'd like to believe more have woken up. We already have a team: America (fuck yeah!) and we have a banner. That is all we have ever needed. Anything more is just senseless and divisive. I don't give a FUCK how RIGHT you think you are about the world, spirituality or whatever. The Constitution comes FIRST and if you support controls of any kind over other people, I am against you by default.

A-FUCKING-MEN.

Jesus didn't come to be worshiped. He came to be the EXAMPLE. His teachings and philosophy are the blueprint for all of mankind. No "religion" necessary. Once men realized the power they could consolidate using his name it was all over. The "church" as it's known today is just another NGO.

First 4 posts in this thread are the most common sense I've read in a year...spot on. We don't need anymore mental masturbation, just get on with it. There's too much 'ado' about all the manufactured drama, and not enough focus on the heart of the matter - by design.

I agree with a lot of what you said. Christianity, as we know it today, came about by taking various ancient gods, myths and symbolism from other cultures and reworking them into a religion that could be used by the Roman government.

Judaism came about by....taking various ancient gods, myths and symbolism from other cultures and reworking them.

It's funny that Astrology is demonized by these religions. It's root of these religions and Astrological references are all throughout the Bible. It's a "dirty secret".....why? Well...

...Paganism/Astrology doesn't cater to a large authoritarian government like monotheism does. However, to convert Pagans to Christianity, you needed to keep references pretty similar. It's easier to convert a Catholic to Eastern Orthodox than it is to convert a Catholic to Satanism. This is part of the reason for all the pagan symbolism in Christianity.

The "pagan symbolism" isn't found in the Bible.

It's found in Roman Catholic traditions.

Christmas trees and Easter eggs are not Biblical. Yule logs are part of Mystery Babylon religion.

Edit: Somebody can't let go of their Christmas trees...

Jeremiah 10:2-4

2 Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.

3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.

4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.

It's all control. It's never been used to free the minds of man, but to enslave them.

Now... Jesus may have some rules and regulations. And when He comes back and decides to establish them, we'll figure it out. Jesus is clearly demonstrated to be a Man of reason. He isn't above proving Himself and therefore not above proving the necessity and reasoning for His Law to each of us individually... He proved Himself to Thomas and forgave him for doubting... Instead Thomas has become a slang in Christiandom. Ever heard of a doubting Thomas and told not to be one? Yeah, fuck that. I'll question whatever I want.

Point is, if you're not allowed to ask questions, then you're probably following bullshit. Same with those who claim to know everything. No one knows everything- hell we hardly know anything as is and what Science discovers it finds even more questions...

I don't hate the concept of religion. It's a tool. It can be used for good and give structure and order to those who need it. Unfortunately it can also be used and manipulated for evil... This is why the Founding Fathers didn't give us a theocracy.

This doesn't make any sense without you explaining what you mean by "Paul's interpretations."

What exactly do you have a problem with in Paul's letters to the various churches?

Is it Ephesians 5:11?

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove [expose] them.

Is it Ephesians 6:11-18?

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Where exactly does Paul advise people to focus on "doctrine and derived policy" as opposed to the "bigger picture"? Last I checked, Paul wrote doctrines and derived policy are absolutely worthless if love (charity) isn't behind them.

1 Corinthians 13:1-13

1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Hard to take you seriously when it's clear you either haven't studied Paul's epistles, or, if you have, just don't understand them.

It's a lack of understanding and study. Paul was chosen by Christ specifically. Paul didn't go out and "invent" Christianity, it was simply a way to recognize all who belived in Jesus, both Jew and Gentile alike.

Paul is not Jesus, he's a man. Mathias was named by Jesus, not Paul. I understand Peter was convinced, but again, Peter is also a man. The fact that any number of them can be fallible means that all their ideas are subject to maximum scrutiny. Jesus was perfect and therefore anything He said and did trumps anything Paul and Peter claimed.

Saying you need Paul to understand Jesus is like saying Jesus was too stupid to have gotten all His intended message out... Yeah in 33 years I think He said and did more than enough. I also think there's parts of His life that's unaccounted for. Point is, Paul is a man. If Jesus is perfect, then by default He's always above Paul.

You don't need Paul to understand Jesus. You only need Mathew, Mark, Luke and John. The rest is pretty much optional and each person needs to choose for themselves.

Once again, very well said and 100% correct on every point.

I’ve only recently started to pull myself out of what I would call an “antagonistic agnosticism”, and am realizing that much of the same BS that exists within US politics, also exists within Christianity and the modern day church, which pushed me away.

Returning a focus to Jesus alone has been helpful, and your post has framed it very well in ways I hadn’t even thought through until now.

This ability to focus on foundational principles - not total agreement on what nuanced situational arguments are morally right or wrong, or minutiae around when it’s ok to spend tax payer money on weapons and troops deployed to other countries (because the answer, it turns out, is “whenever my team does it and not when your team does it”).

Instead, we need to re-focus on the framework of individual rights and freedom that built our Constitution in the first place. It happened 235+ years ago, and I hope this awakening we’re a part of will lead to it again.

Thanks again, fren!

Left wing = Operation Mockingbird = CIA = Clowns

Right wing = MOS

Imagine how f'd reality is when two frenemie Intelligence Agencies run our entire Media apparatus.

The true sobering reality is that even Reagan himself appeased both agencies while in office (Foreign aid to Egypt, Israel respectively). He had to play ball.
