If I am Vladmir Putin, all I am doing is demanding that the United States pull out of NATO and the UN and order Ukraine to payback the American taxpayer for all money given to the country, including cost of all weapons, at 10% interest.
NATO is almost synonymous with the US due to the bulk of its funding, training and armaments coming from the U.S. back.
