Send into all who are downtrodden your most Holy Spirit to fill them with grace, with hope and love. Focus his eyes on the things above and take them off of the things below. Father, despite our deep love and reverence for you, the cares of this world sometimes overtake us. We humbly ask that you lift our dear friend Sletcha5614 this very moment, and keep him raised up and focused on You and whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute. If there is anything excellent and worthy of praise, help him to dwell on those things, because they are from you. Please keep him focused on You and help him to remember that his cares are you Your shoulders and to claim the promise from You, that all things that happen to those who love You lord, work to their good. He knows You are His hope. Please give him a gentle reminder and that peace that surpasseth understanding. Give that peace to all who love you, Lord, please. Life is full of ups and downs, and sometimes it is hard to meet the challenges we face head-on. The world is changing and evil is everywhere. However, being grateful for what we do have is a good start.

When I feel defeated, I immediately go to a homeless camp and take some food or go to a food distribution center and help hand out boxes of food. Either way you can observe just how bad others are struggling with basic needs. Most are very dirty, most are women and young children. You are immediately humbled in your circumstances and realize you are blessed. There is healing in helping others.

Pray: I am tired and worn out, feeling like I can’t go on. Oh my Lord, please renew my strength as I wait on You. I repent for my sins, and ask that you forgive me. Create in me a grateful heart and open my eyes to the needs of others. I will be still and quiet my soul, and put my hope in You. I praise you and give you all honor and glory.

Holy Spirit, please remind me that this trial is producing endurance in me, which is developing my character and building up my hope. How blessed I am to have You with me in the fire. I am not alone. Amen.

Dear Lord, please strengthen Slechta5614 as you strengthened the Apostle Paul as he described in his first letter to the Corinthians:

Right now he's laughing at you and thinking he's got you, but just a few weeks ago he was crying like a little girl. "God, can you just skip to the eternal damnation part already ???? There was devotional I was reading recently and I'll share it if I can find an online version, but one of the points being made was that "A boat can only stay on course when the captain is focused on the destination". I've been where you are and had to commit that my destination was God. Just keep your heart focused and know that no matter how ugly the journey is you're never alone.
