I made this comment over on the following thread: https://greatawakening.win/p/15JnKhl32r/a-hurricanes-acomin-oh-my-oh-my/c/
I normally wouldn't bother reposting this, but the more I think about it, the more troubling it feels. Keep in mind my immediate neighbors mostly lean conservative, are definitelt anti-Biden, and were ostensibly against the jab - though I suspect they all got it (that's another story...)
Other anecdotes appreciated. WWG1WGA (but boy, it's sure hard sometimes!)
"This seems like a pretty good place to post my recent hurricane experiences with my neighbors... Boy did they disappoint.
We kept power the entire time. Never really suffered. I was actually out and about in the car a good portion of the actual storm. Nothing crazy, but I was out there because I had to be. So I saw what was actually going on on the roads, etc. Wasn't much in our area, to be honest. We definitely got lucky.
After the storm, everyone was gathered around like crazed ants, picking up what little debris they had from the storm. One neighbor lost a wall of his 20 year old fence. That was the worst of it.
The hectic energy was PALPABLE and disturbing. I was sitting in the front porch while my kid played in the mud. People kept coming up to me, telling me what a horrible disaster it was "out there". People up to their necks in water! Whole swaths of road out! Armageddon!
I asked "What? Where are you talking about? I've been out a lot during the storm (running stuff to shelters) and saw very little of this."
My functional, first hand experience was more than completely ignored - it went completely unregistered. Eyes turned blank the moment they heard me speak. The wheels turns slowly in their heads as their minds literally crawled over and around what I'd just said to them. I was at the shelters. I was on the roads. What?
Most people just stopped the conversation and went back to raking up debris. Only one person bothered to carry on conversation beyond this point. She told me "you really need to watch the TV! It's a disaster out there!"
I said "Well, we don't have a TV..."
She got in her car and left, to go randomly drive around seeking out fear porn.
It was surreal. We still have a long way to go to wake up these people."
These people aren't going to be around much longer, due to their vaccine.
For sure there are also more than a handful of people with new illnesses popping up around me, including a couple in this close group of neighbors (which is why I said "I suspect they all secretly got the vaccine despite their protestations...).
It was sad to see them acting this way during a supposed "new emergency" after I'd listened to them talk so much shit about the vaccine stuff in the past.
They're still largely incapable of putting 2 and 2 together. Sad.
There’s a lot of them. I think 4-6% is low balling it.
So, that's like around 13,500,000 - 20,215,000 people just in the USA? That's a lot of lost.
I can count on one hand the number of people who actually know what’s going on within the two counties I live in. It’s mind blowing that so many are blind.
It's scary, like being surrounded by zombies (I assume 😅), or wild dogs, or hornets.. you never know when they're going to just blank out and go on their way...or attack!
NPCs are real.
I am starting to think you are right... but I have a hard time comprehending the concept of an NPC.
Completely unable to think for themselves? Programmed by whatever they see on TV? That does not sound like something that anyone could wake up from. That sounds permanent.
Start by looking into aphantasia. A disorder defined by "the inability to form mental images of objects that are not present."
A condition also associated with the lack of an inner monologue.
This condition coupled with constant stimulation and a dumb brain and you have one hell of an NPC recipe.
The question is how many people are like this? And how wide is the spectrum?
The no inner monologue thing baffles me
Very real. It was very, very weird for me.
It's gonna take "nuclear strike imminent, prepare to die" coming from every news station, social media, emergency alerts, etc...and NOTHING happening...maybe then
I said to the wife: "Imagine if this was war". We both paused, I said "well, yeah... It is war, but you know what I mean."
The programming is DEEP.
On a bright note I was texting and calling friends and family who also were affected by the storm, and got a much better "Yeah, the news is bullshit, LOL" response out of most of them.
I guess the lesson is I have more redpilling to do. Sigh.
Funny, when we had a tornado in our area, it knocked out our power for over 9 hours, lots of tree damage and branches everywhere. Some wind damage too, but it could have been worse. Nobody was freaking out, we all got together out of our houses and started cleaning up. Nobody was inside because the power outage ensured nobody could be stuck on their phones or computers or TVs. Everyone was outside, helping, or the kids were enjoying being kids outdoors.
It may vary from community to community, but ours seems to have less NPCs than yours. We didn't freak out, we all just rolled up our sleeves and started working. People that go about freaking out do nothing to help.
I have to agree.
Here in central Florida stores were open the next day. It may take Sarasota, Naples, Fort Myers longer to recover but not for long.
Floridians basically know the drill.
People haven't learned to disconnect from the TV news. They haven't really put the pieces together that the TV is for propaganda and to manipulate your emotions and beliefs. Once you turn off the TV and find your own data can you start to realize the idiocy of believing a single word out of broadcast news. It becomes vile and repulsive for you to listen to any amount of broadcast news. At least it is for me.
Living in central Florida we have worse summer storms that move quickly. I will say though that SW Florida was hit hard with storm surge in coastal areas.
Storm surge is something I take very seriously. But at the same time realize that storm surge is usually going to not be as bad as they forecast.
If I am not mistaken and you are anywhere near a river you may still have repercussions. I live in SE NC in the Coastal Plains and we weathered Hurricane Florence well. A lot of trees and limbs down but all in all not bad. Three days later, however, I had six feet of water from the Cape Fear River in my front yard. Needless to say we did NOT escape Flo's wrath.
It depends upon if your home is on a flood plain. Other factors include if there is a wetland or swamp between a river basin and where you live. If your home is elevated on a slab. If there is a drainage system in place and if there are natural or artificial retention ponds.
Storm surge did elevate a lot of the gauges along rivers due to Ian's path. But a common storm can do that too. Tropical Storm Debbie was the worst as it kept spinning out in the Gulf and didn't move.
So timing of when a hurricane/TS/TD hits with low/high tide, direction are also factors.
Tbf there was tremendous devastation in SW Florida. Maybe that's what they were talking about.
Yes my parents are now homeless, I’m heading down to try and help pick up the pieces.
I'm so sorry to hear that. It looks like the Red Cross is getting in there now to set up some shelters. They do excellent work on the ground.
The Cajun Navy is down there full-force, rescuing people and animals (including horses) round the clock.
If your parents need help getting out, the Cajun Navy is on FB and you can request help there. I hope all goes well.
Thanks, have been here for three days now, my brother and I are so emotionally and physically drained…. This is way worse than Charley in destruction, but Desantis is the fucking bomb down here, everyone just about has power and things are trying to get back to normal really quickly. But we’re definitely not used to this heat.
Yeah i was reassuring people in my area that they probably don’t need to panic and put on their storm shutters but they would not listen to me, only the fear mongering on the news.
Then they came back assuring me i don't need to put up my shutters because the tv said they shouldn't worry if they aren't in a hurricane warning. 😞
