My immediate thought is that they have a NEGATIVE effect on the environment. We have all seen pictures of the mines for Litium and the fields of "bricked" electric vehicles. As for "climate", idk. How would one quantify that? It stands to reason that if they get their batteries charged from the same places that everyone else draws electricity from then the only place it makes a difference is with each ride NOT burning gas or diesel. That may be a measurable difference.
All said, I think Fitton is great and electric cars as we know them are not. Maybe Tom should clarifying his statement.
My thought too
And yet from what I read, climate has an effect on electric vehicles...

Matt Binder needs to pull his head out. Fitton means they don't do anything to at all to the climate good or bad. He is just pointing out they don't help.
However, the truth is they are energy sinks to produce, and never reduce their precious carbon emmissions any more than their precious wind turbines.
You mean Elon needs to pull his head out?
Yeah I don’t think he gives a fuck. He’s making a shit ton of money off of sanctimonious libtards. It’s the ultimate troll.
Battery tech has been the weak link in our entire technology chain for decades.
Would you rather fund:
oil tyrant regimes abusing their people
rare earth mineral tyrant regimes abusing their people
The choice is yours.
We can choose neither. There is enough oil in the Permian Basin to fuel the USA for the next 200 years. Now add in Bakken, ANWR, offshore Florida, offshore California........
Yuuup!
Two trillion barrels in the Colorado Rockies. That is more than all the oil ever used + all proven reserves.
"Yeah they do" could honestly be read two different ways.
Yeah, they do have a negative impact on the climate.
Yeah, they do have a positive impact on the climate.
Without elaboration we don't know whether he's being ignorant or cheeky... but coming from a guy who literally carried a sink into Twitter HQ, I lean towards cheeky. I could be wrong. He's proven ignorant about other things.
