They're going to spend the next 2 years engaged in retaliatory investigations that will go nowhere, and do little else. Though the investigations might provide some entertainment. Because we all know that no matter what any investigation will show, the Senate will do nothing about it, and the public doesn't care.
At this point I'd view it suicidal to one's political career to vote "nay". Anyone who voted against repealing the 85k need to receive some angry phone calls from their constituents.

It's like most bills that are passed in the House. Whichever party gets a bill passed in the House makes a huge deal out of it, counting on the fact that many (most, maybe?) Americans have no clue how bills are made into laws or that they have short memories and will forget all about this by the time the Senate votes on it.
