I'm on board with Andrew Wilkow's suggestion of abolishing all withholdings and we write a check every pay period to the government for taxes.
This would change a lot of minds on the system of taxation real quick. Can you imagine the uproar of people suddenly waking up to how much the government is seizing from them?
Imagine the uproar of anyone under the age of 40 being asked to write a check.
I'm 33 and I write checks when needed, and have been since I was in my early 20s or late teens too.

Make ALL federal spending dependent on apportionment only.
Every State will have to bill its citizens an apportioned amount for federal spending.
$6 trillion federal budget = approximately 150 million adult citizens (not counting children or illegals) = $40,000 bill for every man and woman ($80,000 for married couple) EVERY YEAR.
THAT is how big the federal government's budget is now.

That's right the income tax was put in place for all not just the rich to fund the war WWII and kept it to build the country and our roadway system. We did all of that and now we only need money to maintain it but there are potholes everywhere! Everything is antiquated and they didn't keep up with the building of America.
They just started stealing all of that money!
There is no such thing as a "temporary tax." Every single one that has ever been enacted has become permanent and has outgrown its original amounts and has outlived the "problem" that it was supposed to fix. TAXATION IS THEFT.
As I recall my history, the Federal government raised revenue back then from tariffs and import duties. I think that today's tariffs and import duties is just the right dollar amount to support a smaller, more efficient government. Once we root out all the parasites and grifters, maybe we could once again have a working government.
They didn’t need income tax for the roads system or anything else. The vast majority of it was pilfered, and the little bit they did throw towards public infrastructure could have been covered from other sources.
The IRS was established to take the money from the citizens of this country and keep us poor as dirt!

This is actually true up until 1942 for the majority 95% wage earners. Only a small number of uber-wealthy paid any income taxes for the first 30-odd years as it was sold to Americans as a "wealth tax". It wasn't until FDR instituted the "victory tax" to help pay for WWII that got everybody accustomed to paying taxes.
income tax doesn't go to any those things in the image. the only thing income tax goes to, is to pay back the debt on the fiat that was printed & LOANED to the treasury. people are literally paying back a fake, fiat interest on a loan they had no part in borrowing.
then, they must print more fiat, with more interest added, in order to "give" people their "returns". you then pay taxes on that interest as well.... if you're sheeple that is.
And the interest goes to the federal reserve which is a private corporation, not a government agency.
A lot of people are expecting this massive financial windfall once everything plays out. I just want reasonable tax reform. That's all. Give us that and this country will prosper.
Everyone benefits when the thieves are punished and their systems abolished. It's not that hard to understand.
Yep this was before WW1, WW2, Korean War, Vietnam War, Desert Storm, etc. The war profiteers and the military industrial complex figured out how to make $trillions on the backs of U.S. citizens ever since by starting conflicts all over the world and arming both sides.
