Honestly - I live on the east coast & have spring buds on all the trees that usually happens mid March - I haven’t seen any Robins yet the bird which is usually a signal spring is 2 weeks away, but I think they will usher in a cold blast to stunt vegetation. Maybe over thinking it but something is off.

They're definitely screwing with the weather and I'm none of their reasons benefit us or nature.
The thing they don’t get is nature is God and they can’t stop it - try as they might in the end God wins. Should have included more hope in the original post kek

Love their jazz hands - they have been hard at work for a long time.
I've been seeing robins all over at my property. They're literally all over the place. And several flowers coming out. This is South East USA.
With the rains in CA, I'm wondering if they've actually lost some of their weather changing grip and we're in a recovery season.
“ im on west coast: it almost seems like theyre cloud seeding here to preserve "winter" conditions... we'll have mornings where at dawn you can see it will be a perfect sunny cloudless day, and then they cloud seed like crazy... it creates overcast conditions, and keeps the temperatures low from morning til about 2-4pm. without the cloud seeding, it seems like it would be springlike around here.”
They’re doing the exact same thing in Colorado. It’s maddening.
Also MD. I can't remember two sunny days in a row for many months. Does anyone know who is actually driving those planes?
Interesting 🤔
We have had quite a few robins around here lately. The birds are acting weird. My husband noticed as well.
You must be a little more south then me & we should see them in another week so. I will be watching 😃
We had lilac buds here in November. Fake ladybugs in the basement now. Flyover state.
Daffodils up already here. About 10 days early.
Sometimes winters are warm though. Seems like an early spring is on the way. Last year it was a late spring based on the date I got tomatoes in the garden. I usually shoot for around Mother’s Day with final determination based on consistent night time lows in the 50s.
Here in Michigan, the last 3 winters have been warm with limited snow but the springs have been ferocious. Cold and snow until May. La Nina effects.
If you remember the very first big covid protest in the world was on April 15th, 2020 in Lansing Michigan at the Capital. It was about 30 degrees and snowing. I was there with the wife. Not unheard of but we are usually warming up fast by April 15th.
Interesting, I don't usually remember dreams, but last night I dreamt there was a robin sitting on the post office steps all puffed up and cold, I went to rescue it, because of course I did, but then woke up.The redwing blackbirds are a sure sign up here, they come at the same time the robins do. And as far as planting, it's always been iffy in Northern Vermont, safest bet is Memorial Day weekend to avoid a killing frost, usually safe to plant potatos and onions and plant out spinach and lettuce, kale and chard may 15th, but, snow in May is not unheard of, we have gotten snowstorms on Mothers Day in norther Vermont, and Easter? In 35 years, I have yet to see an Easter that you don't need a warm jacket, maybe once?
Your dream is interesting- I felt a need to post this & several times I stopped - but something said no no no just reword it - maybe meant for you 🤔
Definitely! Crocuses are out here in Pa. I think the mild weather allows viruses to continue to circulate, bugs to live and definitely is messing up the growing cycle! https://spectrumlocalnews.com/me/maine/weather/2022/01/06/analyzing-the-consequences-of-a-mild-winter
Sleeting here this morning, but not cold enough to damage the buds
Not all Robins migrate. Some spend the winter in lowland swampy areas. I have seen them in the depths of winter eating crab apples and junipers still on the trees in my back 40. I live in Michigan. Robins dont migrate because its cold but purely for food reasons. They are actually quite hardy and grow winter plumage. If you ever see a winter robin their tail plumage is quite white.

Trees and shrubs grow shoots as soon as they drop their leaves. They look like small buds. Wildlife rely on these for winter sustenance. When I am deer hunting in late December, I seek these shrubs and small trees out. Along with cedar they are a deers main winter food source.
Thanks fren I agree not unheard of for spring to come this early and totally happy with a short winter but something has my spidy senses up kek
GA here, we had beautiful blue cloudless skies for 3 days. 2 days of chemtrial, and weather that was in the high 70's all week. Friday and today cold and rainy.
Exactly- you know what I was thinking I remember when Oduma was in office it rained every freaking weekend beautiful all week the entire summer- as I become de programmed I think we’ll shit this has been going on forever - just don’t know anymore
Yes. And we are trying to get our garden tilled up to start planting for the summer!
I keep potted plants all along the driveway. A few of them have come back for several years now. Last year, everything died.
I'm in Western Kentucky and all the buttercups are in full bloom.
I agree. Doing the same in au
